Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Nov 25, 2016 10:48 am Hi there We have recently build in QLD with Plantation Homes and now need to choose our render colours. I thought all the big decisions were behind us but seems not to be the case. We've sampled a few paints (Dulux evening haze and dune and white duck) but none seem to be right. I would love some advice. Looking for something neutral to go with our surfmist colorbond roof etc but everything seems to not be the tone I'm chasing. I'd love something with a bit of colour but not dark or overwhelming. Any tips? Pic below Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Re: Help! Render colour choices 4Nov 25, 2016 6:06 pm We will be building with plantation (haven't started yet, just about to sign contracts). We plan on having a surfmist roof and top story render/ cladding colour as flooded gum. Our previous home was in Dune and it looked better painted on than the sample. We loved our experience with plantation so hoping yours goes very smoothly! Re: Help! Render colour choices 6Nov 25, 2016 8:54 pm 1/2 strength dune isn't bad but it can throw bit of beige. We are going white duck qrtr. For render. Re: Help! Render colour choices 7Nov 26, 2016 5:51 am Hi Craigasaurus thanks for that I didn't think to use half strength. Felt the full colour threw too much cream/yellow so curious about halving it. I liked white duck it was one of my favs! A bit too light for us but glad someone else likes it too. Hi Alex, Thanks for the reply again. I had a chat with the builder, he said he will use primer, then hydrotec which comes with colour and sealer as well.
