Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Front Entry Doors 1200 v's 1020 22Nov 24, 2016 4:02 pm Gosh that's very costly for the door...and then they charge for stain on too. M in VIC is far more reasonable by contrast - I think the door was about $2900 stained & then the handle/lock similar at $600ish My Phoenix by Metricon in Melbourne viewtopic.php?f=31&t=83584&p=1570829&hilit=my+phoenix+by+metricon+in+melbourne#p1570829 Re: Front Entry Doors 1200 v's 1020 23Nov 24, 2016 9:42 pm Can't remember exact but I think it was up to $500 to make ours wiser than usual and about $150 to upgrade to mortise lock and T bar handle. Remember if you go pivot you can't add a screen later on. We figured we would eventually add a screen to it. I feel mine is way over priced and now don't know what to do. Only thing I can think of as to why mine is so expensive, is that you may have a more expensive house inclusions package to us (plus it's a different building company). Can anyone else share their price on their door? We got back the final price of our door yesterday with the increased height (2350mm) - $1910 - different builders and inclusions definitely play a part I think, but in saying that who knows! We originally had another tender with a different builder and for the exact same pivot door but with no side light and no translucent glazing it was roughly an EXTRA $1700 to what we are paying now, which seems crazy! Re: Front Entry Doors 1200 v's 1020 25Nov 25, 2016 12:42 pm Rochelle-1212 DreamHome2point0 This is our 1200 pivot door. I can't remember the exact cost though sorry. We love it but I'm not sure if hubs would give up garage space for a bigger door front door, that's a hard one. What type of facade are you having? Also, do you have another bigger door on the home, like a sliding door that you can move furniture in easily? Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ It's only 10cm out of the garage. Our front of our house is a basic facade small patio I wanted to make the windows and door the features.. Yeah we have a huge stacker door out the back. 10cm really is that much space to lose in the garage, I don`t think you would even notice or miss it. If you had your heart set on the 1200mm front door then I say go for it, they do make a nice entry to the home My Homeone Thread - Re: Front Entry Doors 1200 v's 1020 26Nov 25, 2016 1:37 pm DreamHome2point0 Rochelle-1212 DreamHome2point0 This is our 1200 pivot door. Re: Front Entry Doors 1200 v's 1020 27Nov 25, 2016 1:56 pm Thanks for the help all.
I think that people building with Coral that get the door included in there designer inclusions is not the expensive heavy solid door like I got quoted, as mine has to be on a pivot system. Where as Coral must be a lighter door, probably a Hume door?! The doors they use on Coral homes must be lighter that's why there allowed on hinges (just a guess). Does anyone agree? I could be very wrong.. Can anyone that got a 1200 timber door from Coral share there code door and name? Front Entry Doors 1200 v's 1020 28Nov 25, 2016 2:05 pm Get the bigger door. You won't even notice 10cm missing from Garage. Also, most large couches need a wide door and so having a 1200 door helps! The alternative is to perhaps have two smaller doors (720)? might be cheaper? I've got a 2350x1040 door on my build and wish I'd gone bigger it got a double door.
