Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Building with Emjay Homes @ Riverbank Caboolture "August 6Nov 24, 2016 9:23 pm I did suggest to hubby to block off garage /outdoor door and push out kitchen wall, but that was a no-go hah. Trying not to touch the roof line/boundaries too much. Interested to see how much our changes will actually cost. Emjays found us a deal for 5kw solar for $3990, which is great compared to the 3kw i got quoted for $4k. Block is the 320m2, not big at all, but gets us in the market. The block I've got my eyes on is right opposite the park - emailed developer tonight to confirm - WOOH! Re: Building with Emjay Homes @ Riverbank Caboolture "August 7Nov 24, 2016 9:30 pm Ooh that is a great price for solar! Same thing with us, foot in the door of the market Be great if you get a park view that's only a bonus! Oh that sucks well good luck with the hunt as long as your work can move with you I'm sure you can find cheap land. Me I'm tethered to the city so this is as far as we will go for now. We already moved from Sydney for this reason it was getting far too expensive and we were driving 2hours each way to work, not good once you have children and they are in childcare Follow my build viewtopic.php?t=83885 Re: Building with Emjay Homes @ Riverbank Caboolture "August 10Nov 29, 2016 8:39 am Work for me in Kawana based and childcare is in Sippy Downs/Chancellor Park (that was hard enough to secure a spot in let me tell you, so don't want to upset that apple cart). Hubby based in Morayfield and at the moment is allowed to bring the 6t truck home. So i need to be weary of what areas allow that to park with us too. Re: Building with Emjay Homes @ Riverbank Caboolture "August 11Nov 29, 2016 6:14 pm Oh no that would be hard fitting the truck in :/ Good luck and hope you find a good lot soon Follow my build viewtopic.php?t=83885 Re: Building with Emjay Homes @ Riverbank Caboolture "August 12Dec 12, 2016 11:28 am Following - we are also building with Emjay...... OP, sorry to derail your thread, but Butters, I was wondering why you chose Emjay over CMA, what sold you on them? Cheers Re: Building with Emjay Homes @ Riverbank Caboolture "August 14Dec 12, 2016 2:48 pm scubabe butters7388 Following - we are also building with Emjay...... OP, sorry to derail your thread, but Butters, I was wondering why you chose Emjay over CMA, what sold you on them? Cheers We preferred the Emjay plan and we also felt that we were able to select from a larger range of tiles/carpets/etc. In the end when we compared apples with apples, we felt Emjay was better value and we were able to customise the plan to suit us. Another thing we didn't like about CMA was the double brick as standard, I didn't particularly like how it was just bagged/painted and could still see the double height brick lines. Again we enquired about changing to single height face brick and the cost was substantial. We did find CMA good to deal with though. Ask for references and speak to them. If they are defensive or try to avoid the request, walk. 1 47337 I would never build with Fowler homes. I built with them in 2021 and till date maintenance issues are pending.
