Also the tiles in the bath room at same full height on both walls if so why have they not tiled up on the window wall?? In regards to workman ship you have to live with it so if your not happy now is the time to say something. A couple of your grout lines do seem thick close up but as a whole it looks amazing and you picked great tiles to be happy with. The question is when they are cleaned and everything is in will it be such a problem it will still bother you? We had them moved at install to the left hand side of the block as I checked with council and was told we could apply for retrospective planning permission, all we needed to do is submit a modified layout plan - sounds easy right? Taylex were originally going to install a system through Coral, but we decided to go owner supply, so called the company that did the HSTP design and have been told that we need to gain permission from Taylex to change the layout as Taylex paid the design company......will be calling Taylex tomorrow. Oh it's all such a hassle isn't it - I have been talking to taylex nearly daily haha Our issue is we wanted to level the land that it is been installed on - finally got taylex on board (after about 4weeks discussing and us measuring and everything) Talked to council and half of our area is in a "water corridor" and that application takes 12weeks - its booked in to be done by taylex on the 22nd may! Eeek Yeah sure is, finally got the go ahead to get the plans changed so will be doing that tomorrow but talk about hard work lol. Better to get it done now rather than it be a hassle later down the track. Re: Coral Homes Marcoola 30 Brisbane West 223May 07, 2017 7:30 pm With regards to the splashback (which looks beautiful) because there is plasterboard on the tiled end and cabinetry on the other untiled end does it have to be done like that? As ive seen others done like that too. We have cabinetry both ends with fridge one end and oven tower other end so we only the tiles across the back wall. We moved the fridge space to be next to the pantry because we like the access better but that leaves the end wall plaster boarded!! Hence needing something incase of extreme spillage I guess viewtopic.php?f=31&t=85653&p=1642230#p1642230 Re: Coral Homes Marcoola 30 Brisbane West 225May 07, 2017 7:33 pm em-n-craig H Family Build em-n-craig Ok to cut a long story long: The irrigation areas were in the middle of the block behind the house and basically took up a lot of space - something we didn't even consider during admin stage as were concentrating on the house. Nice to see the end of this whole process - our issues have all been in our yard haha viewtopic.php?f=31&t=85653&p=1642230#p1642230 Re: Coral Homes Marcoola 30 Brisbane West 226May 07, 2017 7:41 pm bribiebell Personally the kitchen tile would drive me crazy that both side are not the same but thats me so i would have them removed. We only got 2100 on the back wall as behind/ above the bath we have our towel racks and didn't feel we needed tiles there. BUT I hate how that tiny piece of wall isn't done so I will be requesting that they do that!! Trust me the kitchen bothered me so much too until I went there and I actually kind of like it? I figured I'm better off keeping it and we can rip it off and paint later if it annoys me too much. What colour paint would you have put on the wall and would that look different to the panel the other end? I would be saying something about the grout lines as I'm a bit of a perfectionist and they are obvious but of you are looking to somehow change the grout to a similar colour to the tile then the gaps probably wouldn't be so obvious. I think an inch of grout by the floor trim is excessive, hope it is able to be sorted for you. Re: Coral Homes Marcoola 30 Brisbane West 228May 07, 2017 7:55 pm I replied in the general thread however I've just realised what you mean about your kitchen splash. They have only tiles the return on one side... I too only have mirror splash on one side. I told my ss I wanted both sides done and that was agreed to then they only went ahead and installed one side. I thought it would p me off as I am OCD but to be honest it doesn't really bother me anymore. You can certainly ask your ss if you want it done. What do your plans say? C U S T O M. C O R A L. And the other end is the Laminate gable to the fridge recess like yours. I'd rather not have it, and was tempted to ask the builder on site, but now I've paid for the tiles (which were expensive!!). Mine doesn't bother me as my splashback is white/similar to wall colour. I think yours is nice! You're right it's a nice corner for something - a plant maybe to throw some green in there!! Had about 9-10 guys out there painting today - on a Saturday!!! Literally every corner I turned someone was either sanding, painting or filling a gap somewhere!! We get so many comments from people who love it too. Ask the council if there is a chance of getting build over easement exemption. Sometimes easements are unused and 24cm is not all that much. Good luck.
