Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Nov 07, 2016 7:44 am Hi everyone, My wife and I have signed up with Metricon to build the Glendale 41 in Silverdale, NSW. We are super excited, land is not registered until Sep, 2017 so its a long waiting game. We have had our external Studio M appointment already and have chosen our final colours. One thing I noticed at Studio M is that they did not mention Hebel textures. Looking at the Hebel website it appears that different textures are available? We are wanting a very flat texture. Also, when Metricon market 'Rendering to whole house with Hebel', does it mean that the Hebel panels will just be installed and then painted? Or do the builders do any further 'rendering' to the panels and then paint? Might be a stupid question but one I haven't found the answer to yet. My partner and I purchased a block in the Cascades estate, hoping for registration in March 2017. Re: Metricon Hebel textures 3Nov 16, 2016 10:46 am We aren't with metricon but our exterior is hebel. Renders then render over the top with coloured render. It is a thinner coat then rendering over board. Also it isn't painted as the render is coloured. Re: Metricon Hebel textures 4Nov 17, 2016 10:08 am hannon_07 Hi Tia, Haha, TIA actually stands for 'Thanks In Advance' Yes we bought in Cascades! Hello fellow neighbor We have a 3XX lot. One thing I discovered though which I am really annoyed with is that 2XX, 3XX and above will all be registered in September, 2017. Did you get a 1XX lot? Re: Metricon Hebel textures 6Nov 17, 2016 11:49 am Not yet we are still in the build process. With render happening in a month. I assume it will be textured to some degree. Haha sorry yeah wasn't sure thought maybe you meant that when you said TAI. We've bought in stage 1 so fingers crossed registration will be in march like Crownland are saying. I was up there the other day and construction is well underway, its exciting to finally see progress, we bought in November last year. We're building with McDonald Jones and also going hebel. Apparently the render finish will be smooth and about 3mm think across the whole house. Signing contract very soon so we're just waiting. Re: Metricon Hebel textures 8Feb 23, 2017 8:37 pm Hi i noticed a few of u will be building in the cascades silverdale...we are looking at buying a block too but wondering if u had any more info on the development...like covenants and building guidelines what is and isnt allowed...also been told no deposit is required till registration does that sound right? Thanks in advance Re: Metricon Hebel textures 10Mar 14, 2017 5:28 pm Hi, We are going to be building a Metricon Home in The Cascades in Silverdale with Hebel Walls also. We choose Hebel as we plan to do granny flat later and thought it would be easier to match the colour of the Hebel from the main house with the granny flat later than trying to match brick colours. We are in Stage 1 and have been told then need to finish the pathway at the top of St Heliers Road and lay the lawn on either side of the new pathway before the submit to council for approval which should be at the end of this week or early next week depending on the weather. It will be with council for about 3 weeks and then registration will take about 4 weeks, so we are only looking at get the land transferred at the end of April if we are lucky. We had to pay 5% deposit for land, but that was maybe because it was with an agent(Patrick York) and not with Crownlands Development. Re: Metricon Hebel textures 11May 04, 2017 6:15 pm Hi All, My husband and I have bought a 3XX block in the Cascades Estate at Silverdale also. We have been advised that registration will take place in October 2017. I am looking forward to following the posts on this thread I'm particularly interested in hearing how people go with the builders they have selected and what the average site costs come in at. We haven't chosen our builder yet but are considering GJ Gardner or possibly Eden Brae. Any feedback or comments are welcomed. Hi we are also building in the cascades we are building with Eden brae Re: Metricon Hebel textures 15Aug 01, 2017 2:41 pm Hi silverdale_g41 My husband and I are building in Melbourne with Metricon and the design we chose is Delta25S. Metricon offers full house render with Hebel. Unfortunately, I have the same question as yours (Sorry cant be of any help). Also, I heard that although Hebel has great insulation capacity and gives good look when compared to brick, it also has an issue with maintenance and long term sustainability. I read many forums and reviews where they say that it cracks on the exterior of the house after a couple of years and it also requires cleaning with water from the outside once a year and re-painting the house ever 8-10 years. Heard of these issues???? I haven't asked my consultant about this yet, but not sure if this is going to change my mind to brick. @ ALL- Please share any reviews and experiences. I was looking at different options for a fence for my build and Hebel PowerFence seemed like a good option (one of the criteria was a solid wall look). However, I don't… 0 5902 1 6631 1000000% definitely add insulation. I have in my home and it makes a big difference minimising sound transfer. Insulation is pretty cheap and definitely worth it 2 6191 |
