Hi Experts
Could anyone here please advise me , how much additional soil I am looking at, after the cut and fill activity. My builder told me , it would be 60T costing around 4500$.

Let me check with the builder what's going on.... i only really deal with parts of this sort of stuff in my line of work, not the actual volume of soil/estimating side of it. i could be wrong, but 60T does seem a bit excessive. i would be asking for a bit more clarification on how they came to that number. Re: Cut N Fill export of soil 5Nov 07, 2016 3:48 am We are in SA, but it might help anyway. Our block had a fall of 2m, and about 1m in the build area. We estimated 160T based on standard volume calculations, but it ended up being 325T in total. They usually work on a factor of about 1.8 or similar for standard 'soil' but ours was a bit wet from all the rain we had. It cost us $4500 for the removal of the soil. edit: oh are you paying that much for soil to be delivered? that seems very excessive. Get the builder to clarify Building a Fairmont Custom in Seaford Meadows Our Build Thread Re: Cut N Fill export of soil 6Nov 08, 2016 8:08 pm Yikes. Our block had a 1 metre slope front to back. We had it built up to keep our block flat and even at the kerb. We approached builders doing cut and fills on adjacent blocks and asked for their fill. They were happy to get rid of it. We then got our retaining wall contractor to spread the fill and level the block. They eyeballed our plan and piles of free fill and said "that looks like about 60 tons". We got the earthworks and soil for free! (Only paid for the retaining work which we thought pretty reasonable) PM me your email. I have a build excavation calculator you can use based on your plans to double check what your builder is telling you.
