Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Nov 04, 2016 12:05 pm hey all! My husband and I purchased a 694 m2 block in stage 5 of Appletree Grove estate in West Wallsend in july this year (2015) which our land registered not long after...Now where past the end of our design stage of our build ready to go to council so I wanted to start my own blog, mostly for a record for me to look back on once this is all over and done with. our crazy wonderful journey so far… we went searching for the perfect forever home.. we chose a home that we loved I got to design where I wanted everything in our home it was great... but firstly it was not so great we started with eden brae but they were pushy hopeless and just down right money hungry so it seemed, I wanted to change one their designs to fit my needs on our block but everything u changed to suit urself would cost you more and more money so we went off searching for someone we could trust someone who had our ideas and who new west wallsend like the back there hand n that's how we found (tony) , i must admit his one of the most nicest builders i have come across not to mention his staff but wow they really work great as part of a team they get everything done so fast i just cant fault them if i wanted too..We are now about to go to council It has been smooth sailing so far, fingers crossed . Do u know how much we have to do to get our live in the house Something certificate whatever it's called haha. Re: New williams designer homes blog 14Nov 18, 2016 8:41 am Occupancy certificate? You get a temporary one when you move in and then you can do your landscaping and whatever else needs to be done then you apply for a proper one. Our SC sort of said that you don't have to worry about getting it straight away. It's only an issue if you are selling or maybe renting it out. Re: New williams designer homes blog 15Nov 18, 2016 8:42 am But you have to have the driveway done before you can move in, and obviously the verandah and stuff will be done during the build. Re: New williams designer homes blog 16Nov 18, 2016 9:13 am Ahhh dont even talk about this darn certificate!! I'm having a stress attack.. I cant get a straight answer from anyone about who even needs to organise it!! I've asked coral - no response, Bank - no response, council - Hopeless. I've also been told that you can move in without the driveway done... I really hope this is the case as ours is due to be done 3 days after move in. _________________________ Building the Noosa 26 with Coral Homes https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=80794 Re: New williams designer homes blog 17Nov 18, 2016 9:28 am Don't worry too much about it Ryalls, from what I understand it isn't a huge deal and I've had people tell me they haven't bothered to organise it until like 5 years after move in. I have been told the driveway is important but that was from someone who built in Fletcher which is NCC so it might be different from LMCC. It's not like council are going to show up and kick you out if you move in before you have a driveway Re: New williams designer homes blog 18Nov 18, 2016 9:36 am k.goldington Don't worry too much about it Ryalls, from what I understand it isn't a huge deal and I've had people tell me they haven't bothered to organise it until like 5 years after move in. It's not like council are going to show up and kick you out if you move in before you have a driveway Hahah well thats the theory i was going with as well! lol Im not worried about the full occupancy certificate.. Just the interim. Im just freaking out because dad said that the bank may want the interim certificate to issue the final payment, surely not - its not like we would be the first to do a driveway after handover --- Ahhh my head is spinning!! _________________________ Building the Noosa 26 with Coral Homes https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=80794 Re: New williams designer homes blog 19Nov 18, 2016 10:25 am Ryalls, I spoke to our neighbour the other week and he said the only thing you need for the interim certificate is that darn tree in the backyard Yay another place in westy! we are almost finished our build on Withers Street (stage 3) Building Beechwood Bordeaux Four in Newcastle area Re: New williams designer homes blog 20Nov 18, 2016 10:28 am nataliea Ryalls, I spoke to our neighbour the other week and he said the only thing you need for the interim certificate is that darn tree in the backyard See this is how inconsistent they are .. my friend has been living with just her interim for 12 months and still doesnt have the tree ahhhh!!
