Can't wait for PCI pics!!! All the best for tomorrow Re: Building our Clarendon Fairmont 38 on the Gold Coast 147Sep 08, 2017 1:14 pm Looking great! Love your glass window splash back! I'm thinking of doing the same thing. Could I ask how much it cost for that size? And did you have any problems with the cook top being so close to the glass? and/or the bench/frame join? Thanks in advance looking forward to another update! Re: Building our Clarendon Fairmont 38 on the Gold Coast 148Sep 08, 2017 1:23 pm Hey Ashleigh. My kitchen changes were quoted as 1 price so I don't have an itemized amount for the window but I believe it was about $1000 and is 3.6m long. No problem at all with the cook top being there and the stone join is at the stove so you can barely notice it. I'm dying to see your flooring go in, can't wait to visit in a fortnight Building our Clarendon Fairmont 38 on the Gold Coast 153Sep 08, 2017 3:30 pm Our block is backed and sided by dense lantana bush and scrub... not so pretty but at least peaceful. For 17 years an application has been in council for the large piece of land to be developed into 44 small blocks and a small park and eco corridor. Less than a week before we move in and they have started demolishing it... after 17 years of no action. I was really looking forward to the peace of just bush and no houses. Luckily we have no houses near us as the ecological corridor runs beside our block but it will be a lot of disruption and destruction for a while and an outlook of houses in the distance instead of bush.... the big trees are staying luckily. Let's hope that's not a curse on this block already. My thought on these things is there was probably someone who didn't want your house to go up too. At least you'll keep those lovely trees My parents have been renting near a school for 30 years, about 5 years ago they closed the school to redevelop, but basically everyone used it as a giant park, unfortunately they are now going to concert it into a heap of houses/units.. it happens though. Re: Building our Clarendon Fairmont 38 on the Gold Coast 155Sep 08, 2017 9:13 pm We lived beside a school for 8 years and loved it. Couldn't hear the kids as the school was on a hill and the sound travelled the other direction and you knew there was never going to be any late night parties haha.
