Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Metricon Liberty 45 (Turramurra) 82Jan 24, 2017 11:46 pm Looks like it's gonna be a great house. You sure do sound like you love your AV. Your projector is top of the range, I'm getting an Epson as well but it's one model lower than yours. I had a look at your sitting room/cinema electrical plans and I had a couple of atmos speakers in the ceiling close to the front and also rear speakers. After further consultation with "The Big Picture People" regarding best practice for an Atmos system, they said the atmos in ceiling speakers should be positioned closer to where you would sit.. They also said rear speakers would be best at the sides instead of the back. I raised a construction variation with Metricon to cancel the supply and installation of the speakers and then ran a few more speaker wires to the recommended positions. Security cameras are planned but still haven't decided . I have 6 network points for cameras . 4 external and 2 internal . Still trying to find a good setup that won't cost a bomb Are you looking at Webcam or CCTV options? It's not clear in the electrical plans but the atmos speakers (wiring) are above the to be lounge position - the end closest to the garage. The projector will sit in the garage and the lenses will peek through a hole in the wall , much like in the cinemas. This will give me a little bit more flexibility with the screen size / and look less bulky in the home theatre room. I get your comment re rear speakers , I'm going for 7.1.4 setup which has two at rear , two at sides, three front (includes Ctr) and a sub. Is that what your going for? Did they still say rear are no good? Ps who are the big picture people ? Re: Metricon Liberty 45 (Turramurra) 85Jan 25, 2017 8:49 am NthHome vuster Looks like it's gonna be a great house. I'm going for the 5.1.2 which would be layed out as follows: http://www.demo-world.eu/wp-content/upl ... -setup.jpg I did consider your configuration but I thought the size of the room was a bit small for that. I'm going for 8 -10 Hikvision camera + NVR myself. Still undecided on the exact models, but will start researching as soon as we get the build started. Have you thought about where the NVR may go? I have provisioned a couple of points in a bedroom closet just in case I decide to place the NVR there. Did Metricon charge you extra for providing a hole in the garage wall? I had requested this feature myself as the garage would have made an ideal space for my AV rack, but Porter Davis have said it can't be done due to structural reasons. I'll have to try my luck with the Site supervisor directly, else the AV closet is going to be spread across the theatre and under stairs area for me... [/quote] The hole in the wall for projector is a site mgr thing Av rack - avoid the garage due to lack of air con. Your amps are likely to over heat. I had to change my plan cause of this. Just put network gear in garage if you have to. That's what I'm doing now. Nvr- all the Camera network cables will return to linen cupboard upstairs where I'll have a poe switch and nvr . From the cupboard it will also connect to the main house network(single cat6 to garage) What type of nvr I got no idea! Hkvision ???
