Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Oct 25, 2016 4:32 pm Hi All, Long time lurker, first time poster. We are building a modified version of the Bordeaux with Home Group and with Pre-start coming up soon we were hoping to just get a vague idea of how much people got charged for upgrades. Just to better allow us to budget. Thanks in advance. Re: Home Group WA Pre-start. Anyone willing to share prices? 3Oct 25, 2016 10:08 pm Hello Katalyst, We are currently building a modified version of the Bordeaux as well, we got a lot of upgrades included in the final contract price but here some of the prices we paid for the upgrades that we selected: Provide 4 panel sliding (double) door instead of standard 3 panel sliding door $240 Upgrade to Rheem Continuous hot water system $359 Cold water plumbing to fridge $284 1 bank of 4 approx. 450mm wide laminate cutlery draws $688 Wall tiles behind canopy rangehood $101 NetSuite hobless shower with reflux valve $728 and 2nd shower $18 Chrome intergrated tile floor waste instead of standard $355 (to both bathrooms and laundry) Dulux Acratex acrylic finish to front and alfresco $331 Omni Pull Handle front door $298 Upgrade from standard internal sliding door to one with glass inlay $548 Vogue semi-frameless shower screen $284 Ultimo Glass shelf for bathroom $50 NBM minimum pack $691 I cannot remember the price of lights and power points but my hubby is an electrician and he was very impressed with HG prices and he is getting them to do the extra work Re: Home Group WA Pre-start. Anyone willing to share prices? 4Oct 25, 2016 10:26 pm Thanks for the answers so far! Great information. Perhaps I'll start a thread for our build when I have some time over the weekend. Did anyone get the sunblock venetian blinds? We'd love to know how much they go for too. Re: Home Group WA Pre-start. Anyone willing to share prices? 5Oct 25, 2016 10:44 pm Ooh don't get Venetians if you want light blocked out, each slat allows a lot of light in on each side! I am slightly obsessive over blackouts and we are getting cassette blinds which are total light blocking 😂 Re: Home Group WA Pre-start. Anyone willing to share prices? 7Oct 28, 2016 11:28 pm Mon445 We literally upgraded everything so just let me know what other prices you're after. Did you add network ports throughout the house? I'm wanting 4-5. Also, we have LED down lights throughout (no idea how many that includes) how much for extra ones of them? Also, any idea how many powerpoints per room they usually give? And how much for extra ones? Upgrade carpet underlay. Fully frameless shower. Upgrading the pavers. The trilock door handles. That's pretty much the upgrades we want. Any info you have on those would be great! Plus anything else you think we might want Re: Home Group WA Pre-start. That's pretty much the upgrades we want. Any info you have on those would be great! Plus anything else you think we might want You get one power point and one down light per room. I can't remember how much extra ones were. We basically pulled the lights from minor bedrooms etc and have them in all the main living areas and then just got conduits put in so my father in law will add extra lights and LEDs to the other rooms. Much cheaper than going through home group. Power points were about $55ish I think for a double- $33 for single. Waterfall ends were $1500ea Handless cupboards were about $3000 throughout. 31c throughout was approx $2900 Banks of drawers instead of cupboards approx $550 for 3 Tiled floor waste were about $45ea The upgraded shower heads were $390ea Hope that helps Re: Home Group WA Pre-start. Anyone willing to share prices? 14Nov 10, 2016 5:39 pm Best advice I could give is do your research. We apparently had one of the most experienced pre start ladies & she was lovely, but offered nothing. There are so many upgrades and options available & not one was shown or offered to us (not in the prestart book either) It was only because of these forums that we were prepared & asked to have different things added.
