Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Building Eden Brae Bristol 31?? 41Jul 05, 2017 10:31 am Remove/Retain the Balcony blade walls People who opted for Fairview Facade - Did any one thought about removing the blade walls on either side of the balcony to open the house. I am in a dilema from past many days thinking over this, which one would be better To keep the existing blade wall on either sides of the balcony? OR Remove the blade walls and opt for brick columns, which will open up the house more and helps improve its street presence. Does any one has pictures of Fairview facade with the columns? Thanks Building Eden Brae Bristol 31?? 43Aug 03, 2017 7:01 am Its extra. On one side its included. If you want one on the wall then its extra. Re: Building Eden Brae Bristol 31?? 45Aug 14, 2017 2:14 pm Hi I am planning to build Bristol 33. I had a consultation with the sales people and also paid $1400 towards initial soil test etc. The price base is around $285K but I see them throw a lot of amount on site cost. While some BASIX is built in by most of the builders, EB is charging 14K for BASIXs, 20K for additional site cost, another 15K for more site cost and also around 20K towards Hydraulics, KDR allowance, Traffic control etc. I could see that the site cost in different categories total up to 75K Is it normal. My land is not sloping and has got enough road side parking on both ways. The only unknown is Hydraulics. Just wanted to know from anyone, do we get a good picture of the site cost once they do the soil and other test which I have paid around $1400. Are we still expecting a hidden cost. Anyone who has been through this? Please advise. Thanks Bristol33@toony Re: Building Eden Brae Bristol 31?? 46Aug 14, 2017 10:05 pm mikegrg1 cranbourne23 Its extra. On one side its included. Thanks Bristol33@toony No It's not normal practice..only deal with facts from a trusted source What you get from a salesman that works on huge commissions is "Surprises , surprises and sticker shock" BTW his job is to put the deal "On the Table" and get a deposit from you.. Then in the office they say " what does he know he's only a salesman? It's easy enough for you to work out what's a fair price, please make informed decisions before you enter into contracts You can't sue a Salesman Privity of contract Designer,Engineer (Civil,Const & Envir),Builder,Concrete & Masonry Contract.Struct Repairs Re: Building Eden Brae Bristol 31?? 50Sep 01, 2017 9:11 pm mikegrg1 Do u guys know whether house alarm was included in ur package? Re: Building Eden Brae Bristol 31?? 54Jun 24, 2018 4:38 pm Hi guys, For anyone building the Bristol can you please tell me if you were able to add extra depth to the garage? We’ve widened the garage by 1 metre but are concerned that the sales guy told us it was “too hard” to add depth to the garage and it can’t be done. My hubbys Ute is 5700 long so it’s definitely not going to fit in a standard 5.5 x 5.5 garage. Can you please let me know if any of you have done this and any approximate costs. Thanks I built with EB back on 2009.
