Thanks for that list Kaycee - I had some of those items on the list but glad you shared yours as I hadn't considered some of the others. How was your ability to determine cupboard and draw sizes? Are they ok for you to mix and match sizes so long as it fits in the kitchen dimensions? Rawson has shared a list of electrical upgrades with me. For someone who intends to install downlights after handover, is there any reason for me to select the "Downlight Provision (for future supply & installation of downlight by Owner)" rather than the "Ceiling Batten light point"? The later is slightly cheaper but I don't see why I would be indifferent about either option. What does the "Downlight Provision (for future supply & installation of downlight by Owner)" include? Also, I've noticed that in the LUX book, it states that for the staircase, "A lush, painted timber handrail will accentuate the line of your staircase as it cascades from the first floor down to the ground floor. Complete with square posts, 12x12 stainless steel balusters, and MDF treads and rises, your staircase will make a real statement." Are there any covering to the MDF that comes standard? I would have thought carpet or some sort of wood but having a look at people's Rawson builds, I either see the MDF or there are coverings, but no mention of whether these were standard or additional/done post-handover. Did Rawson have many upgrade options to the stairs? Hoping that there would be some options over the stainless steel balusters and understanding the coverings of the MDF. What did everyone choose for their Wall and Ceiling colours? I'm thinking of a wall with a hint of grey tones and a whiteish ceiling (there are so many different white tones!). Are we given options to have the spout and mixers rise from the vanity/basins instead of coming out through the walls and/or vice versa? Are we given the option of specifying the light switch and air-con controller height from the ground? I've seen a few tiles at another tile place (not Tile Direct) but from the same brand/supplier that Tile Direct uses. Has anyone had experience in asking Tile Direct to order a tile that's not in their showroom but from one of their listed brands they carry? It's not great seeing those comments on Rawson SM's - I'll definitely attempt to engage with my SM early and upfront to avoid any potential delays but it looks like it is across the industry and a very hit and miss on getting a good SM. Re: Rawson Homes - General Thread 115Feb 03, 2017 3:10 pm hey all, Awesome to see a general build thread! I am building a Huntley 31 (which has been modified and is probably only a 29 now) up on the central coast. we signed our tender back at the end of august, and just got word today that we have been approved with CDC. hopefully work should start in the next 6-8 weeks! and fingers crossed we are in by christmas! Kitchen cupboard sizes: pretty sure you can have different sizes at no extra cost as long as it all fits - we just went the same size, except for some draws. Downlight Provision: this is one that I did not understand... I assumed that it would include a predrilled hole, and a plug in the roof so you can install your own downlight, but our colours/elect lady said that it would be a batten holders, as they need to show that the wiring all works.. She suggested we just do a batten if we were to do downlights after handover. Stairs: Carpet is Standard... and they have upgrade options available, but both our colours, and sales consultant replied with "its expensive" when we asked.. someone else can give you exact figures, but from memory the glass handrails (like the display home) were aprox $20,000 - $40,000. Wall and Ceiling colours: this is the wifes department, but from memory walls are "windy grey" and ceiling is "ceiling white" Spout and mixers placement: unsure - best to write it down onto a list and ask when you do colours electrical heights: yes, you can specify heights for each item, if you dont specify they will be put at a standard height (powerpoints were 30cm heigh from memory) Tiles: unsure, but I would assume this be okay. Rawson Homes - General Thread 117Feb 03, 2017 6:53 pm anonymous- : My response would be no different that that of wreckedandjealous. Below prices were effective May 2015 so may already be outdated. Cost was approx 9k. Price may have gone up since we signed. That also included glass around the void. Re: Rawson Homes - General Thread 119Feb 05, 2017 4:25 pm Has anyone upgraded their Daikin controller from the Nav Ease controller to the zone controller? Just wanted to know whether you can have multiple zone controllers controlling the same AC unit (e.g. one upstairs, one downstairs) and what the upgrade price is for the controller, as it's not on the electrical pricelist. Re: Rawson Homes - General Thread 120Feb 05, 2017 9:31 pm $785 for the 8 zoned controller (there is a 4 zone, and an 8 zone) You should check your detail drawings, it may show downpipe within brick pier. 14 14099 Just started the Build process for Chifley 42 with Rawson homes, will keep you all posted with the Build progress. 0 2451 Hi, Apologies - I know there is plenty out there on this but struggling to put together the puzzle.
