Hi All,
So about 3 months ago the wife and I decided to buy some land and look at building a house. We had been looking at established large homes on acre+ lots for some time before that but after not having any luck we are going down the build path. We have chosen then Cow Lodge from Ventura as we loved the layout and design. Also seen a few on here have done the same.
So here is our house plan:
Just a few changes to the original plan, removed the bath from the ensuite, increased the size of the WIR, added a WIP, added a cupboard to the office and some doors so we can use this as a 5th bedroom if needed, increased the size of the garage and also added a vanity in the 2nd toilet. Some other changes that are not on the plan, we've moved the cook top to alongside the oven and the sink has been moved to the bench alongside the far wall which gives us a full breakfast bar.
Ok we are now playing with home orientation on our block. We have purchased an odd shaped block as it is on a cul de sac. To get the best use our of the available building envelope and try and hit the bedrooms facing south and living areas facing North we are looking at placing the home as follows:

We have to build 6m of the boundary and so does the neighbour so we won't be looking straight into their yard. What does everyone else think? The dotted spot in the SW corner we can't build on as this is where the effluent disposal system needs to go, we also can't build on the shaded area in the northern area. Total land size if 1 acre.
Anyway, we are still 4 weeks or so away from pre start so still early days, just the fun and games of selecting colours, tiles etc etc!
Cheers
