Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Oct 06, 2016 9:47 pm Hi all, I am doing a KDR. Just wondering if anyone had experience getting public liability insurance while the temporary fence is placed around the property? I know that demolisher and builders are covered by their own public liability, but just want to know if there's options available before I handover the land to them (in case something happens to the fence or if the fence falls over) I got landlord insurance while the property is rented out, but presumably they don't cover situations like these? Re: KDR - temporary fence insurance 2Oct 06, 2016 10:16 pm If the block is empty then there's little danger that anyone breaking in will be able to hurt themselves enough to warrant a lawsuit. We had a Demo on our site, the temporary fence wasn't very secure during the demo which took a couple of weeks, so the house was half down for a while - no issues. Soon after the demo we handed over to the builder. If vacant land was dangerous then you would see fences around all those newly sub-divided blocks out in the new housing estates - which you don't. I wouldn't worry if I were you.
