That's such a shame you've been let down again mrsdoe! I hope that everything sorts it self out and you're in (relatively) hassle free soon

On another note, your house looks amazing at the front! I love your render colours and the cladding!

The front of the house looks great. Hopefully they get the kitchen right on the third attempt and it doesn't hold up your handover

Boo on them stuffing up yet again! Jeez, seriously how hard is it to get cabinets right?! Totally get your frustration!

But woohoo for a lovely, finished facade and great choice on that bed head. Very similar to what I want for ours, though I am partial to a winged back style. Add some beaded edging and perfect!

Thanks guys, I think what I'm so frustrated about on the kitchen front is that we weren't told when they found out. I would've been less upset if we were pre-warned once it came to their attention rather than being told a whole week after the kitchen was supposed to be fixed when we chased them up.

But I am happy about how the facade is looking even though it looked very dark in the overcast weather, especially loving all the glass in the front door to let natural light into the entry way as our last house the front hallway was very dark.

So this week has been fairly productive:

- Monday was PCI and other than the kitchen island panels/doors there was no issues other than minor cosmetic touch ups to plaster, paint etc and installing the glass shelf to the downstairs shower and a vent to the understair storage cupboard (as this will hold the server and CCTV equipment etc so needs ventilation)
- The fencer has core drilled the limestone retaining and installed the fencing posts, Colorbond panels to be installed tomorrow
- Met with the landscaper on-site this afternoon to look at samples of artificial turf to decide which one we wanted them to quote on
- Ran into the supervisor after finished with the landscaper and he's said the kitchen is booked to be fixed tomorrow which I'm holding my breath for it to be right since this is the third attempt on it!

Oh my goodness, our kitchen is finally fixed after all these months! Third time's a charm

I ordered the light fittings yesterday for above the kitchen island so hopefully they arrive by the time we get the keys otherwise we won't have lighting in the kitchen for awhile!

The kitchen looks fantastic mrsdoe!! Love the subway tiles too!
Feeling excited, we've got our final inspection on Monday morning and all the paperwork is with the bank to make payment of the final installment so we're hoping we'll have keys by next weekend. We picked up three different sample pots of paint today and some pieces of white card which I'm going to paint so we can move them around the house to look at the colours in different lights once we get the keys so we can decide on a colour straight away. Mr Doe finally got around to ordering the handles for the kitchen yesterday so luckily they only take 4-5 business days to arrive!

Ooh exciting! Getting close to keys!

So close to keys!

Since it's getting so close to he house being ready I'm in my father in-laws workshop this afternoon working on our coffee table... I'm covered in dust and wondering what in the world I was thinking

I bought it second hand with the intention of restoring it because I couldn't find anything in the shops that I liked!

This is the original photo of it from Gumtree:

The photo above was while I was sanding it then this is what it looked like tonight with the first coat of paint on it:

I've got to do another 1-2 coats of paint then I'll oil the top to give it a bit of colour and bring out the timber grain and highlight the parquetry pattern then wax it all over to protect it. I've ordered a couple of extra cup pull handles which we're using for the kitchen to replace the handles on the coffee table drawers. I've just got to find some nice paper to line the bottom of the drawers which I've left unpainted.

Wow. How handy are you?! That's going to look amazing when it's finished. Can't wait to see it.

And how nice to give an old piece of furniture new life.

Thanks Dani, happy with how it's looking so far

We had our final inspection today and the house is looking great, they've sorted out everything we picked up at PCI. The bank called about 15 minutes after we'd left the house and asked for a copy of the building insurance Certificate of Currency so that they could organise the final installment payment which Mr Doe sent through to them once he got in to work (he's an insurance broker so he'd already set the cover up last week ready to go which made it simple to organise quickly). Hopefully they make payment quickly now because I am literally itching to get in now I've seen what it looks like!

How exciting and glad everything has been sorted for you! Let's hope that the time until keys flys by!

Exciting times ahead for you. I love the kitchen and the coffee table!
