Re: Sloping&Narrow inner Melb build. Slab stage 143May 29, 2017 9:37 pm JB1 Get a basic Miele, Asko or German made Bosch. Neff is also having a sale on the S21N53N7EU $1,200 with a 4 year warranty has got be worth considering. Thanks mate. Yeah I'm going to hold out for a sale on another asko I think. Hopefully one comes up on sale over the next 6 months or so! Would be nice to have the brands matching. Re: Sloping Narrow inner Melb build. Slab pour 146Jun 04, 2017 8:19 pm That's great. Our 37sq Custom Hamptons Inspired Home: http://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?t=86931 Yes agree! Fingers crossed the weather holds for both of us lol!! Yes herringbone is the plan. We considered the chevron style but I think I like herringbone better (and it's cheaper). That floor pictured has 2 stains through it, a brown and a grey to make the veins pop. The guy said he will work with us to make a custom stain so it will match everything. I'm just PRAYING it holds up against my 2 devil children... Re: Sloping Narrow inner Melb build. Some are softer than others and prone to scratches. Probably also need to consider if this occurs, how easy is it to replace a plank if you need to... Either way it's going to be softer than a laminate but you get a better look with timber. Especially in Melbourne it's better to go with timber I think. Re: Sloping Narrow inner Melb build. European oak is not as hard as others like spotted gum. I think the Janka rating is around a 7 Re: Sloping Narrow inner Melb build. Slab pour 3 of 4 156Jun 11, 2017 12:06 pm Janka rating of oak (european or American) is usually 5-6. This is fine unless you drop something or wear heels. I like parquetry flooring (with a border). Making a comeback. What do they charge per sqm for material and labour. I'm considering it for the main living area. Re: Sloping Narrow inner Melb build. I think i was thinking of Tassie oak being around 7. The European oak is softer. We will be a no shoes house, and I will be donating ALL of my son's Tonka trucks to charity the month before we move in. I'm not 100 % sure on cost yet, I think I'm budgeting around 180 a square metre give or take. Fully laid and stained etc. Re: Sloping Narrow inner Melb build. Slab pour 3 of 4 158Jun 12, 2017 1:33 pm Brave man! It'll look stonkingly good though. And let's face it, floors are there to be used so if they're marked, they'll have character and show the house is loved. How's the son going to go with donating his trucks? My dogs demanded a janka rating of 11. Although they're not allowed to run inside and have to stay on their beds when they're in! Re: Sloping Narrow inner Melb build. TBH in my mind I really wanted spotted gum or similar but the designer and my wife are adamant we need something with a coloured stain through it. Spotty looks so good with its natural colours would seem silly to stain a spotty....Which brought us to European. My son has not yet been told his toys will be taken away... Maybe we can dump them at grandma's house lol. Re: Sloping Narrow inner Melb build.
