Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Oct 01, 2016 11:31 am I use NBN at current address and called TPG this morning for moving home service. They checked my new home address and said that it was a new estate and required by NBN to pay of $300 for NBN development fee. They said everyone needs to pay it as long as you required NBN service under a new estate. If we go with Telstra, they would also ask for it. I wonder if anyone had the same thing? Re: NBN development charge fee WA 2Oct 03, 2016 5:43 am Yes. Earlier in the year, the government allowed for NBN co to charge this fee to retail service providers whenever they connect a new nbn service for the first time at a particular residence. Most (if not all) companies are passing this charge onto customers. I know that Telstra passes this onto their customers and since it's an additional cost to any retail provider, I doubt you would find anyone who would waive that cost. Note if you were the second or subsequent person to connect the nbn afterwards at the address you don't have to pay anything. Unfair I know but it's how it works nowadays. If you already have a contract, is the inspection cost stated in there? If not they would be forced to issue you a variation which you could of course object to. 12 25870 Hi, does anyone have a clue how the Brisbane Development website work in terms of how uptodate the dates on it are (developmenti.brisbane.qld.gov.au).
