Just wondering how you went after handover in terms of dealing with hallbury for the things that needed to be fixed. Have they been yet or still a work in progress. Would you build with them again? Re: Building with Hallbury Homes in Moorabbin 50May 02, 2018 10:35 am Hey, I will post a long post in a few weeks, once the landscaping is complete. Overall, post handover has been a positive experience with Hallbury. Most issues are dealt with promptly. We had an issue with electricals after the handover, and the original electrician had to come out to fix the issues (incorrectly installed rangehood, cooktop, some switches issues) he was a piece of s..t, in the end we told Hallbury that they either call someone else, or we get our own electrician, and send them the bill. They send someone else (Hazard electricals) and these guys were good and fixed everything. 3 months check, there was a list of about 15 items, and all got accepted.Tradesmen were organised shortly after, and everything got attended to. There are 2 outstanding issues. One is sliding doors to alfresco, are very hard to move, so, Hallbury will send someone to take them off, and check rollers/adjust everything. Driveway sealer is coming off. The concreter will be back in a few weeks to reapply the sealer. Re: Building with Hallbury Homes in Moorabbin 53May 03, 2018 3:10 pm Had a free moment, and had some photos of the staircase. The old staircase, once painted looked hideous. The painter that was sent to paint it and stain in, was crap (maybe ok for walls,...) we picked a walnut colour stain, but he applied so much of it, it was simply painted ugly missionary brown... and he was messy, got splash marks everywhere, which he cleaned up, but still, how hard is to mask everything?? We complained to the SS, he called out the boss of painter, but it was such a crap job, that they couldn't get out of it. Also a Haymes rep came out to check (stain was from haymes), and he said it was applied incorrectly. They offered us to strip it back, and re-stain it, but we decided to redo the staircase ourselves, and put the same flooring on staircase as the rest of the house. Got 1k credit from Hallbury, and painter boss came back and fixed up things himself around handrails, and other areas. Old .. I like the light colour on top of the steps. I have a question about demolition back at the start. You said the guy was hard to get a hold of etc but were you happy in the end? Were hallbury happy with the job they did? Putting together a short list for demolition in SE Melbourne. Thanks. Ask for references and speak to them. If they are defensive or try to avoid the request, walk. 1 74716 I would never build with Fowler homes. I built with them in 2021 and till date maintenance issues are pending.
