Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Sep 25, 2016 1:12 pm Hi everyone, Our new land has no gas and therefore our house could be all electric - 3 phase A/C Reverse Cycle, Cook top, Oven, Appliances, Lighting and Solar Hot Water. Should we swap to gas bottles for running costs or will it not be a huge difference? We also have no water or sewerage. The septic is fine, I'm just worried about having no town water. We would need a rain tank for drinking? We will have accessible channel water but will this be suitable for showering / washing clothes? Thankyou. Wouldn't bother swapping to gas for you cooking unless you really wanted a gas cooktop. Tank water is good for drinking and showering. Other water would be fine for laundry, Toilets and outdoor taps. Re: Worried about No Gas / No Water / No Sewerage (Running C 5Oct 17, 2016 12:22 pm Yeah I am in the same boat, building in an area that does not have reticulated gas, so we either go gas bottles or all electric. The builder we are using offers gas cook top and gas instantaneous hot water, so if we choose all electric we would need to swap these out so unsure if there is a cost involved? What would people suggest for a hot water system then if we are electrics, storage unit, or an electric instantaneous? Obviously if we go instantaneous and there is power outage then no hot water, whereas a storage tank would give us some and gas would just keep in ticking. We are looking at solar as well. 2 6182 Hi all I am looking to run a water line under my concrete footpath which is directly next to my home, was seeing if this is possible without cutting the entire section… 0 20178 4 10821 |
