Browse Forums Building A New House Re: {Dawn} SE Melb Custom Build - Ever After :) 2621Oct 23, 2017 8:22 am I'm still trying to work out where to put my Japanese Maple; I have a crepe myrtle for the front yard feature tree, but I have a young maple that self-seeded from my neighbours tree. Re: {Dawn} SE Melb Custom Build - Ever After :) 2623Oct 23, 2017 9:29 am I've been MIA and just caught up on your thread - you've done so much and the front yard looks great. The front porch came up really well. Re: {Dawn} SE Melb Custom Build - Ever After :) 2625Oct 26, 2017 7:01 pm I'm both excited and nervous, having my house warming (and 30th!!) this weekend I can't believe I've been living in this house 11 weeks, nearly 3 months, and its already time for the party! I feel like I've managed to achieve a lot already, but of course will always be something more I want to do!! Thank you to everyone who has shared this extraordinarily long journey with me. Re: {Dawn} SE Melb Custom Build - Ever After :) 2626Oct 26, 2017 7:03 pm Woo hoo! D She loved setting up for the party. Everyone wanted to cuddle her and take her home!! Had to steal her back out of my aunt's handbag as she went out the door XD

Lots of fun but glad its over with!!! I got a bit lazy with the decorating, Panda kept attacking everything I put up!! Popped 3 balloons before I decided to put them up higher. Hehe.. It was so much fun to have all the friends and family over, the house seems so empty now everyone has gone home!! Thankfully I've already managed to clean up the house. Got some nice pressies. Bunnings vouchers which I always need!! A lovely orchid for the bathroom *YAY*, some pretty metal butterflies to put up on the wall, a good luck elephant statue, a nice platter, a cupcake stand, and some fake plants. Hehehe love the bunny and the kitties, the kitties are a tad naughty for digging that beautiful palm but hopefully now that the stones are in there it won't be an issue Re: {Dawn} SE Melb Custom Build - Ever After 😀 2632Oct 28, 2017 8:53 pm aloenyx Thanks Charli!!! How is yours going?? The kitties are behaving now that I have stones in all the pots. Ummm, we haven't started in landscaping lol but I love our house, still making it a home but slowly getting there It's so hard to keep up to date on here plus live in the real world lol Re: {Dawn} SE Melb Custom Build - Ever After :) 2633Oct 29, 2017 9:42 pm Happy belated 30ths and house-warming! How are you finding the light coloured sheer roller blinds? In the rush of our meeting at the house I went with the blind guys recommendation of the charcoal, due to it being easier to see through and matching the windows. But once I sat back that night I realised that's really not what it want. We have nothing to see out the windows they will be on anyway and they are on the south so his argument of the white creating glare doesn't stack up either. I'm going back to house this week with the samples after carpet is laid, but I'm thinking of going the white grey sheerweave, with either the very light grey/almost white blockout (as selected) or changing the blockout to a bit darker (although this would mean having them different to the family room, the darker greys made the tiles look brown so these need to stay light). I actually debated going black to, to break up my white.. and also thought about a duck blue, but happy with the white now. I dont want the sheers to be a feature. They blend nicely. I plan to eventually put blockout curtains over the top, so they will be a darker colour. I like the grey colour!! Re: {Dawn} SE Melb Custom Build - Ever After :) 2636Oct 31, 2017 7:21 pm Sad day today. Our dog Toby passed last night, after a 3 year battle with diabetes and cushion's disease. He was 12 years old. He was my parents dog, but I grew up with him. Still remember bringing him home as a puppy and surprising my sister at school XD Feels a bit like the end of an era, having lost my own dog last June and now my sister's dog. Childhood is well and truly passed. Re: {Dawn} SE Melb Custom Build - Ever After :) 2637Oct 31, 2017 7:29 pm Such sad news...really feeling for you...Pets are such important members of our families regardless of how old they are... Its been a long few years. We had 2 cats and 2 dogs growing up. We've lost one cat and the two dogs in the last 3 year. The other cat is quite old and not very well. I take comfort knowing they all had long happy lives with our family. I also lost one of my bunnies in February. I hope 2018 is a better year for our family. How is your house going? Surely they must be nearly done!!! Re: {Dawn} SE Melb Custom Build - Ever After 😀 2639Oct 31, 2017 9:05 pm Sorry for your loss!!
