Browse Forums Building A New House Re: {Dawn} SE Melb Build - PCI Tomorrow! 1761Jul 20, 2017 6:28 pm I know! I'm here! Finally!!! D Hehe, I love my little house. Its been such a long time since I picked all my colours, but overall I'm very happy how it has all turned out. Especially happy with the exterior. Definitely looks a bit nicer than my neighbors, both of them have gone with very budget facades, so mine pops. The white helps.. as we all went for brown bricks. I owe it all to you lovely H1ers and all your suggestions way back when. BTW... DAMN streetlight So annoying for photos. ..So it hit me like an hour ago.. OMG I HAVE TO MOVE! OMG..where to start... so much to do!! Hehe... It hasn't really felt real before.. I need to like..pack..and do ..stuff.. Re: {Dawn} SE Melb Build - Handover Countdown! 1762Jul 20, 2017 7:00 pm I noticed the streetlight and thought, "hope she doesn't run down her front steps too fast." Re: {Dawn} SE Melb Build - Handover Countdown! 1763Jul 20, 2017 7:04 pm Haha.. I know. It's probably good for extra security and such, but its also a bit annoying.. hoping won't have too much light coming into my bedroom at night, that will drive me crazy. Re: {Dawn} SE Melb Build - Handover Countdown! 1764Jul 20, 2017 8:01 pm Woohoo! I didn't know any of this had happened as I didn't get any notifications! It looks amazing and I'm so excited for you!! You'll be living in there before you know it! I have a huge street light out the front of my place, although it is on the corner. It's annoying though it will shine light straight into my front bedroom! Re: {Dawn} SE Melb Build - Handover Countdown! 1765Jul 20, 2017 8:27 pm Yay! Look at YOUR home!! You did it! You're really here!! The place looks great and the defects minor. How exciting!! You made it!! Building our forever home! Your house certainly does pop by comparison to your neighbors. It is very cute. 'Tis a pity about the streetlight being right in front but if you're having plantation shutters they should block most of the light. Just a couple more weeks and you & your furbabies will be in your own space and you'll all be able spread out & relax, without having to worry about upsetting your parents. I bet you're getting very excited now. I legit didn't even see the street light in the photo I had to go back and look but now that I see it, I cannot un see it lol. I'm still stoked for you Re: {Dawn} SE Melb Build - Handover Countdown! 1769Jul 21, 2017 4:57 pm I'm so glad your PCI went smoothly, sounds like you might even get keys this month. Fingers double crossed for you! Your facade looks great, I love the grey pebble render with the pillar colour and the fence is going to look perfect when you put the slats in. It all works really well together. Have you decided what colour the slats are going to be? Re: {Dawn} SE Melb Build - Handover Countdown! 1770Jul 21, 2017 6:05 pm Lol Charli!! It's so awkward trying to take photos without getting the spotlight in there. I'm having second thoughts about the front fencing. I originally wanted a wood look aluminium slat, but now I'm wondering if I should go with colorbond to match the guttering, etc. One of many things to think about!! I'm going to try and come up with a list today.. Re: {Dawn} SE Melb Build - Handover Countdown! 1771Jul 21, 2017 6:20 pm This is what I was thinking... I will also be doing my side gate out of this material Re: {Dawn} SE Melb Build - Handover Countdown! 1772Jul 21, 2017 6:37 pm Can I have a vote, what are people's preference for my front fence? I think it looks warm and earthly. Re: {Dawn} SE Melb Build - Handover Countdown! 1774Jul 21, 2017 7:06 pm I like the deep ocean or the wood look. Is it possible to do it in ironstone or even wallaby? Re: {Dawn} SE Melb Build - Handover Countdown! 1776Jul 21, 2017 8:14 pm I think a darker colour or the wood grain look would suit best. You go too light and your rendered fence pillars won't pop like they do now Building in Stone Ridge with CMA - Follow my build: https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=85842 Re: {Dawn} SE Melb Build - Handover Countdown! 1777Jul 21, 2017 8:20 pm I'm leaning towards the wood look now after seeing my little mock ups XD Nah they don't do ironstone or basalt limit colorbond colours.. in a colour like my pillars it looks good too. I think Deep Ocean is a little too bright blue. Also have to pick my side gate, was thinking black edging with wood look.. like this.. Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Or should I go a different colour altogether.. or just all wood look? Ah.. choices so hard. The black might look a bit out of place with your surfmist windows/garage and basalt gutters. Wish I was allowed to have a fence.
