Hoping they don't put up a double!! It's the last house around me to be built. That's good for security for you, having something behind! Re: {Dawn} SE Melb Custom Build - Ever After 😀 2550Oct 08, 2017 7:59 pm aloenyx Thank Rural. I am starting to settle in. They are cute and look great on the bed or couch. Did some plant shopping today!! Got most of the front plants and a few for indoors. Still have plenty more to buy. Will share some photos once we plant them. I just love plant shopping and walking around nurseries. Pity I have no money left if I want air con for summer Re: {Dawn} SE Melb Custom Build - Ever After :) 2551Oct 08, 2017 8:06 pm I want more too!! I would love a split system in the master before summer as well as tinted windows, but the money has run out. Plants aren't too bad thankfully. So many things I want but have to wait to save XD Looking at stackable jewellery boxes. Re: {Dawn} SE Melb Custom Build - Ever After :) 2552Oct 08, 2017 8:31 pm aloenyx Thank Rural. Parents had their own ideas on what I should do, so ended up getting a few things I didn't want. But overall happy with my haul Just need to plant. Little acacia cognata limelights to go down the driveway side. Some little pink fairy stars to go in between my hebe. Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Tree to go right up against the garage on the fence side to block some of the fence, etc and add some height. Hebe to replace where the daisies are moving.. another daphne to fill the gap next to the path.. and all the other daphne I already had out there. Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Two daisies to go under the tree, gives me 5. Yellow and orange!! Plus two azaleas to go near the pillars (once we figure out what sort of retaining we are doing). And lastly my purple fairy stars to go in between my acacia cognata. Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ I still have more to buy... XD I would like more trees/shrubs in the front yard.. but will have to wait a bit longer. Also will need some smaller ground covers to go underneath the hebe. I also got a few indoor plants, though I hate one of them XD I'm thinking of doing galvanised steel edging in the front garden, and thinking of changing the garden bed.. This ism y original plant (very straight!!) Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Thinking of doing this later on (when parents aren't looking XD), I like the curvyness more. D I really like the curve. Thinking of having someone come and professionally install metal edging along the garden beds. Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ I have all the plants listed on here already except for the front tree. I feel like I need another tree in the yard, the maple is lovely but doesn't provide much height, though the red is nice against my white render. For the tree, would love something green and something that blossoms, hoping it would provide some share on those front windows eventually. Maybe a crab apple or crepe myrtle? Other suggestions? I think I want to tile the front porch, hopefully in 10mm bluestone, again would like to get it done professionally, will see how that goes (I really need to plant a money tree!!). We should be done with all the main planting this weekend, then I will finish off the rest. Still trying to find concrete planters to go either side of the front path. The plan is to use the one on left as a retaining wall. I can't find any though at the size I need, roughly 500mm(w)x300mm(d)x300(h), though can compromise on all measurements except the 500. I got a quote to get them custom made and pick up from regional Victoria for $260 each!! Bit pricey. Any other suggestions? I think I took all of your suggestions on Rosemi with the planting Some good ones. I'm hoping once everything grows up a bit I will have nice full gardens, don't want lots of bare patches. Stupid path.. stupid slope on what was meant to be a flat block!!! I so want to just extend my loan $10k or so and pay a professional to come redo/finish off the front. Re: {Dawn} SE Melb Custom Build - Ever After :) 2560Oct 11, 2017 7:03 am aloenyx Having problems with a neighbor ;; Why is a new house so hard. What's happening? I work with owner, he/she is my man on the ground and I instruct them when to visit the site and take photos and I have other tools in the bag. 4 15285 I am in the same situation, would you be able to give some insights in to this? I am in SA 8 17063 Depends what you're current inclusions are, but we're not including wardrobes and will just use second hand ones until we can save later on to get them built. Also have a… 3 11648 |
