We have a similar side passage. Our neighbours built their garage right on the boundary and our bedroom wall is 1.2m off, leaving just enough space for a passage and bin storage area. Our builder warned us away from putting anything up against their garage slab/wall. We were originally planning on concreting all the way up to their slab, but were told that if the concrete was to move and damage their slab that we would be up for the damages. We put some decorative rock along the gap to make it look presentable. As far as planting anything goes I would stick to pots.... You don't want to damage your path or their slab with a root system! You would need something that loves shade and damp environment as I'm assuming that it wouldn't get a great deal of sun throughout the day and would be a constant damp space. Also steer clear of climbers... They can be uncontrollable if you leave them unattended for too long and may make their way in between your homes causing all sorts of problems. If you want something pretty to look at I would look into screens. Lots of pretty patterned decorative screening available from hardware stores or online. You might be able to paint them in a colour that you like and that would stand out against their house brick. Good luck! Let us know how it goes!! The fencer said if the garage is build on boundary and there is no space to build a fence, the garage wall will become the fence and you have the same rights to use the wall as if it is your side of fence... Re: Help needed from experts!!! 1620Jul 11, 2017 10:44 am To avoid any potential issues later that could be attributed to you, I would do something similar to Nattabs, and put some nice rocks in the gap to fill it (cover the dirt) and then use slim rectangular pots to give it some greenery. My blog: tashandpaul.wordpress.com I work with owner, he/she is my man on the ground and I instruct them when to visit the site and take photos and I have other tools in the bag. 4 15020 I am in the same situation, would you be able to give some insights in to this? I am in SA 8 16962 Depends what you're current inclusions are, but we're not including wardrobes and will just use second hand ones until we can save later on to get them built. Also have a… 3 11547 |
