We have had framing finished yesterday! next stage for us is Hebel! fingers crossed the sun keeps shinning and they make up some time! That's good progress! iPhone app says clear weather for the next 10 days so you may have Hebel completed within a couple of weeks if no shortage of trades. We had a week of no work as not enough trades availableZ but once it started they had Hebel finished in two weeks. We are currently at rendering stage which takes 10 days so expecting it to finish on Friday. Re: Building with mojo homes 26Jul 08, 2017 5:43 pm ja-mez Have they done any internal linings yet? Not yet mate. Lower roofs finally got done this week and as per SS expecting pre lining inspection mid July and that is when I will be given a ball park PC date! Re: Building with mojo homes 27Jul 30, 2017 8:59 pm Howd you go? We have render starting late this week. The lower roof ive been told will be a pain. Apparently they have lots of delays getti g them back... still aiming for december hand over. Ideally i get it early jan. Have rental contract till march! Re: Building with mojo homes 30Aug 01, 2017 10:28 am Hi I am selecting Hebel in my tender and want to know more about this material beforehand.I just read a article about the pros and cons about Hebel. the website: http://www.wabca.com.au/blog/pros-and-cons-of-hebel-wall-panels, here are part of their comments of the cons.
The other question, what is the thickness of Hebel, 20mm? is it good to retain heat/cool compare with brick? What do you think about this article, especially the joint movement, render crack and maintenance. Thanks Re: Building with mojo homes 31Aug 01, 2017 8:46 pm SearchingTim Hi I am selecting Hebel in my tender and want to know more about this material beforehand.I just read a article about the pros and cons about Hebel. the website: http://www.wabca.com.au/blog/pros-and-cons-of-hebel-wall-panels, here are part of their comments of the cons.

What do you think about this article, especially the joint movement, render crack and maintenance. Thanks 1) thickness is 75mm 2) maximum span is 6m. They have an expressed joint horizontally and veritcally. See pictures 3) hebel is a better insulator than brick. It retains less heat.. known fact.. 4) wrapped and delivery On my project the subbies rejected half the hebel on the truck because 2 panels were cracked. They said not worth the risk. New materials came the next day. If the panel is slightly bowed once fixed and rendered you will never know! And will have no effect on the finish. The on site installers dont pay for the hebel so they take no risk.. 5) as with any rendered house it will need maintenance. Pressure wash and eventually repainting. Which actually gives you a fresh new look!!! If you get a chance go to hillview rd. Drive around the estate. Theres a finished mojo at the start of the road. Theres on on watheroo and one on the next street down. Done in brick.. nice house but you geg lost in all the brickwork. Its an enigma 46 with 3rd garage Theres also a metricon being done now with hebel. If you go saturday i dare say theyd still be there installing! Also see pictures of expansion joints.. backing rod and caulked over to be painted Theres also one of a repair due to scaffolders.. once rendered youd never know Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Re: Building with mojo homes 32Aug 02, 2017 8:38 am Hi James, thanks for your explanation, no questions now. I will take a look on the Hebel buildings there. when the Hebel comes to the site, I better there to see the Hebel quality and how they select the good and bad ones. Re: Building with mojo homes 34Aug 02, 2017 7:04 pm Hi, I have a question about Hebel if someone can help me? On a single story home is it easy for someone to kick or use a hammer to gain entry to the home? I've only ever had brick homes and the builder we are looking at uses hebel instead. Appreciate any feedback and information. Re: Building with mojo homes 35Aug 02, 2017 7:34 pm bee1980 Hi, I have a question about Hebel if someone can help me? On a single story home is it easy for someone to kick or use a hammer to gain entry to the home? I've only ever had brick homes and the builder we are looking at uses hebel instead. Appreciate any feedback and information. Possible but crazy. Top hats/services/wall wrap/framing all in the way There are weaker points of entry. The other thing is that once rendered a would be thief doesnt know if its rendered brick/clad or hebel. Its just a wall. Windows, Sliding doors and roof tiles are much easier to get through.. some people go colourbond for this reason! Re: Building with mojo homes 36Aug 06, 2017 3:21 pm We are now at lockout stage! Re: Building with mojo homes 38Aug 06, 2017 3:32 pm ja-mez Thats awesome!! Are you getting fancy stairs done? Thought they do stairs prior to lining.. no Fancy stairs for us mate. The free standing option was crazy expensive (around 25k)! We are better off spending that money on driveway and landscaping. You are right they usually do stairs before lining but in our case we have reached lockout and still no stairs! The SS is trying to get them in earlier instead of the scheduled 17th august. I can see your house is coming along quite well. What stage are you at right now? Have you got any quotes yet for things like fencing, driveway and landscaping? Handful of defects/incomplete works mean i probably wont get to lining by september. We have 4 weeks in august but theres 2- 3 weeks in exterior works and theres a couple issues which means that the scaffold wont come down so the lower roof wont get done. Knock on effect. No linings or electrical rough in until this is all closed out! Hoping our stairs go in early on as our tiles are huge. Be a nightmare taking that up a ladder! Havent had landscaping quotes as I'll be doing that myself. I find landscapers so hit and miss. You see ones worth every dollar and others that should stick to digging holes. Driveway my brother inlaw is a concrete so as you can imagine I'll be calling in a favour Is anyone building with Mojo and have a recent site cost tender 0 15951 Hi all, We are considering Enigma 46 from Mojo Homes in Gables, NSW.
