If you want to duplicate the display home you will need to spend up to 50% more than the base price (see http://anewhouse.com.au/2013/08/love-the-display-home/) For our last house we limited the upgrades to Additional Power sockets Nicer kitchen cupboard doors (But kept laminate counter) Nicer Internal Doors. A couple of Internal doors to make some areas a bit more private. Overall we spent around $10,000 and were very happy with the result. The Harder You Try - the Luckier You Get ! Re: Need help for choosing necessary upgrades 4Sep 12, 2016 6:37 pm Choose the things that are important to you that are difficult or impossible to do after handover. Structural things like higher ceilings. Bricks. Roof cladding. Insulation. Window location and size. Add doors where you need doors. Electrical to downstairs if building two storey. If you have money left after those things look at "cosmetic" upgrades in order of how expensive they are to do after handover.
