Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Coral Homes Marcoola 32 QLD 321Jan 16, 2018 3:13 pm That’s great you got a good tiler - there are some out there who care about the finished product (my hubby is meticulous!). Have you considered putting in a semi in-ground pool? Might make a difference to your warranty, and a few steps up to a deck can look lovely! - B A vue of the pines on the Gold Coast forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=87210 Re: Coral Homes Marcoola 32 QLD 322Jan 16, 2018 3:59 pm Definitely keep thinking about it, there are always ways around it. Unfortunately some may cost a little more $$$ I don't think I could live at the Gold Coast with kids and no pool. So scared about this whole building caper, the possibility of stuff ups is HUGE!! Re: Coral Homes Marcoola 32 QLD 323Jan 16, 2018 8:13 pm symone How long is house warranty? Surely you could build one once that has lapsed. Our current pool is 1m away from our house, there has been no issues. We are in the starting stretch of building a modified Marcoola 32 also. we have a start date of Jan 29. Then the site gets handed back to our pool builder until Feb 5 and after that it is hopefully full steam ahead http://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=84825 Coral - Marcoola 32 Re: Coral Homes Marcoola 32 QLD 325Jan 17, 2018 7:51 am Write reply... We have switched around the front half of the house, lengthened the garage, changed where the WIR opens up and enlarged the outdoor area. We have also added more storage in the laundry and garage. And rejigged the kitchen so the island is ALL bench. Pretty sure we have the Hastings Facade. Re: Coral Homes Marcoola 32 QLD 326Jan 17, 2018 8:38 am Yeah your house looks waaayyy better positioned on your block than ours. Your yard will be lovely! My partner HAD to have our left hand side 3m away frome the side boundary for some reason, wasted 1.5m of extra width we could have had on the other side and that only left us with around 2.8m on the right side and not much room out the back for a pool unless we put 1m away from the house. This is how ours is positioned: Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ http://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=84825 Coral - Marcoola 32 Re: Coral Homes Marcoola 32 QLD 327Jan 17, 2018 8:44 am We are 1.5 from the left and 2.9 from the right. We have always planned a pool and enough side down the garage for our boat and for access to the back yard. We tried with council for a relaxation so it was only 1m from the left and leaving more room down the garage side but they knocked us back. I think the space down the left is a waste of space, hence us trying to make it smaller. Looks like our blocks are pretty similar in size though. Our site plan like yours has the pool in the wrong spot so thats why I shared my butchered diagram hahaha ETA what about in the far right corner? Do they consider the alfresco part of the pad? You could maybe have a long skinny one. We had a few little dramas with the whole pool thing but they got it sorted. Definitely think about it, it may not cost as much as you think for the extra works for it being closer. Re: Coral Homes Marcoola 32 QLD 328Jan 17, 2018 9:22 am The alfresco was poured as part of the slab so im just guessing that it would be 3m from there too. Im gunna have to look into it in more detail after the house is finished i think. It just frustrates me because im the type of person that has to know things now and like to always be prepared haha http://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=84825 Coral - Marcoola 32 Re: Coral Homes Marcoola 32 QLD 331Jan 18, 2018 9:21 am Maybe mid/late March i would say Good news about our pool situation too, we spoke to our slab engineer and he said we can have a pool 1.5m from our house as we already have enough piering so if we put it along the side of our alfresco area we will probably still have to ask council for a relaxation for the side boundary. I think we would be about 1.2m away from the fence instead of 1.5m so hopefully they would approve it. Going to sort it out after we move in but its good to know now at least http://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=84825 Coral - Marcoola 32 Re: Coral Homes Marcoola 32 QLD 333Jan 18, 2018 11:10 am We'll hopefully be getting one like this Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ http://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=84825 Coral - Marcoola 32 Re: Coral Homes Marcoola 32 QLD 335Jan 18, 2018 6:13 pm A friend went out and snapped a photo for us today and looks like theres been a little bit more progress: render looks like it has been done on front pillars, sheeting in above windows and eaves and fascia. Cant wait to go see how our tiles are coming along!
