Browse Forums Building A New House Marcoola 32 with Coral at Canungra Rise Gold Coast 81Oct 23, 2016 9:18 am We found out the hard way. We signed our contracts, even though they weren't sent back to head office. We got charged $950 for variations. It was the first time seeing our actual plans, so we saw things that weren't there in the first place. Because we have that silly storm water drain at the front of our block, we can't have our drive thru side as big as we want, so we told our sales lady we want nothing put on that side of the house. Get our plans back, the a/c box is on that side. That is costing us $550 to move because it will be further from the meterbox. I'm going to fight that one however. But nonetheless, enjoy seeing your plans, another step closer. Re: Marcoola 32 with Coral at Canungra Rise Gold Coast 82Oct 23, 2016 9:55 am I had $2000 in variations for colour and a $3000 allowance for electrical but $950 variation for this - so all up my electrical was nearly $4000. This is in addition to owner supplied electrical items for everything. I didnt know at the time of tender, that I could have a colour allowance. I was only told i could go to the showroom and have a look first to get an idea of what i wanted. Had i been informed then, i would have spent the whole day at the showroom instead of a couple of hours! We didnt sign today because i want to have a good look over everything first and make sure 100% that we are happy with everything - but we were also told that if we did sign, we could still make changes now without any fees. I have major trust issues with everyone now, including our SC, since how our land has been handled so I don't believe too much of what we get told ? Re: Marcoola 32 with Coral at Canungra Rise Gold Coast 85Oct 23, 2016 1:31 pm Does anyone know if Commonwealth Bank will or will not finance any extra variation costs by any chance? We are using a broker, mortgage choice, I wonder if that helps in any way
