You're so close now. Energy was the only thing I wasn't overly fussed about having to spend the money, it will only save you in the long run and make the house more comfortable. Yes, just needed some extra insulation, cost us around $1,500 from memory. Our Henley Aegean45 Re: Building an Aegean230 with Mainvue. 187Oct 01, 2017 4:47 pm I think u got double glazing in ur promo - which means at the most u may need to upgrade the insulation which may probably cost around 1000 to 1500 - hopefully follow my build Arden homes Votivo 37 iin south east: https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=88622 Re: Building an Aegean230 with Mainvue. 188Oct 01, 2017 8:18 pm Energy rating and what you may need to upgrade will depending on the orientation of your house on your block. If you review my link, it has what I had to upgrade as well as change window sizings to keep the aluminium windows and the original size stackers. We changed all windows from timber, which has a better energy rating, but not something that we wanted on our home. I just hope that you don't need to go through what we did. Good Luck Re: Building an Aegean230 with Mainvue. 189Oct 01, 2017 9:35 pm Rachael13 Energy rating and what you may need to upgrade will depending on the orientation of your house on your block. Good Luck Yeah, I followed your build thread in detail when it came to the energy rating. We face north with no neighbours to our north or west side so all our living areas will have plenty of light. All windows double glazed and timber is plus none of the windows are frosted. Only issue is we have 44 down lights and both ground and first floor ceilings have been increased which won't help. Once I find out about the energy rating I'll post the details. Just like Aegean430 said, if we need to upgrade the insulation that's only a positive on the house. We got the energy back yesterday and we've had to double glaze both our alfresco doors at a cost of $1200. On a good note, henley upgraded our floor/ceiling and garage insulation at no cost. The provision they allocated was $3500 so we've got quite a bit back. That's brilliant pricing for the alfresco - we were slugged $2319 for ours but also had some of our insulation upgraded at no additional cost. So from here they will re-check all of your drawings and Cosham selections, if there are no issues, they will send your docs to estimating and then over to constructions. You're nearly there. YAY!!!! Re: Building an Aegean230 with Mainvue. 198Oct 16, 2017 10:46 pm SAFA1 Following your thread with a lot of interest. Glad it’s going so well!! Am a little jealous of your progress.... We're just waiting for the building permits and for ordering to do their thing than off to construction. Can't wait to see this house actually take shape instead of looking at photos. The fact our block is at the main entrance and there's a lot off foot and vehicle traffic hopefully that deters these thieving a$$h0les. We got an email saying that our SS couldn't find 2 x pegs. Got the shovel out and found them.
