Updated house plan and we have tender tomorrow (woohoo).
Will be bringing our Cosham book and all our correspondence between us and our admin to see if they 'accidentally' increase their prices.
Finally at tender - it's good to get the initial pricing, the only thing that raised our eyebrows was the site costs. How did you go or are you still in shock?
Actually Rachel the day went better than we could have expected.
A lot of our upgrades came back cheaper than the price book they gave us on the Cosham info day.
The prices for the extended landing to the stairs, extra shower head, Smeg upgrade was way less than what we budgeted for.
The most surprising thing was we were provided lunch and proper coffee .
Also with our fall being approx 1.3m we thought anything less than $30k was a win so when our presenter told us site cost was just over $18k I nearly fell out of my chair in (good) shock.
That is a very good price for your site. I had asked Henley for a quote for site cost for a block in hunt club last year with similar fall side ways and it was around 30 to 40k quoted. Since u budgeted 30k it means those 12k can go on nice upgrades.
I think mainvue were giving last year double glazing free which means come contract time u may save money again for raised ceilings - it cost us around $1200 to upgrade the batts for meeting 6 star rating - Arden gave double glaze and awning windows free to bed3 and bed4.
So when is your contract. We r still awaiting compliance and having signed our building contract almost 3 months back growing a bit impatient. It will be interesting to watch I think our build might start around same time[/quote]
Hi pEast,
We thought we'd save some $$$ but couldn't help ourselves and added more upgrades so now slightly over budget
All windows except the stacker doors are double glazing so that'll help come summer time. Hoping we don't need to double glaze the stackers as that's some serious $$$.
Contract should be middle of September and hoping to start October to avoid penalty fees. The way we're going you'll be building before us.
