Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Building an Aegean230 with Mainvue. 82Dec 16, 2016 9:15 am firsttime_homies1401 Hi staytrue, the Mercer Q2 was on our list but the missus didn't agree on the stairs. I 100% agree with you on Carlisle they basically slap a house together and move on. I've heard there facades are cheap but they make there money when it comes to site costs. My parents and sister in law both built with Henley and without building inspection and they haven't had any major issues. We currently have built a henley home but are now selling it as we want a bigger block and a bigger house to start preparing to have a family! We love our henley! It just feels a lot more luxurious compared to our friends carlisle that they built! Plus I have heard some horror stories about carlisle they have good reviews because of their customer service and when someone has completed a build their customer service team encourage people to leave good reviews. Through out the process of looking to build again we have gone through every major builder and every single time we come back to Henley and their floorplans! We found that carlisles ground levels were very tight and the use of space was terrible, there upstairs was great and open but who entertains upstairs? I would much rather a grand and open ground level where you have space to entertain Re: Building an Aegean230 with Mainvue. 83Dec 16, 2016 4:14 pm Hi Firsttime_homies1401, To add more thoughts for you, I'm putting a 600mm wall oven in a tower with the microwave and having the 900mm oven under the cook top if that makes sense. Re: Building an Aegean230 with Mainvue. 84Dec 16, 2016 5:28 pm Hi first Do you have submit front landscape plan to your developer for approval. We have to submit and also have get it done within one month of getting certificate of occupancy. follow my build Arden homes Votivo 37 iin south east: https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=88622 Re: Building an Aegean230 with Mainvue. 85Dec 17, 2016 10:12 am Rachael13 Hi Firsttime_homies1401, To add more thoughts for you, I'm putting a 600mm wall oven in a tower with the microwave and having the 900mm oven under the cook top if that makes sense. Hi Rachel, Thanks for the reply and yes, it does make sense. Can I ask the reason for the extra wall oven? It will look really good having a feature tower and the main oven instead of blank drawers. Re: Building an Aegean230 with Mainvue. 86Dec 17, 2016 10:17 am Hi pEast, Wow they don't give you much time. Not like you have much to do when you move in . We have to submit plans as well but we have 6 months. They do have a lot of conditions on what and what can't go in your garden. I'm personally a big fan of landscaping and have done a few gardens so it's not to much of an issue. Hi Rachel, Thanks for the reply and yes, it does make sense. Can I ask the reason for the extra wall oven? It will look really good having a feature tower and the main oven instead of blank drawers. I'm adding the 900mm oven as I love the large oven for entertaining and that means extra large pans in it. I also love the look of the oven tucked under the cabinetry and cooktop into the bench. The smaller oven is for day to day meals, also means I can do the roast and cake at the same time and also have the microwave out of the island and not have to stoop to get things in and out. For my wall oven I've choosen the Technika with the door that opens sideways. For me it is practical with how I cook and also for the way that I like it to look. Re: Building an Aegean230 with Mainvue. 88Dec 18, 2016 4:53 am I like your thinking Rachel, Such a waste of power using a big oven to heat up something small. You have everything at a level where you don't have to bend down to get things out. Our builder has 2 x wall ovens as a no cost upgrade. I believe they are technika unless we want to upgrade to Smeg than we pay for the extra one. I've never had any issues with technika. Re: Building an Aegean230 with Mainvue. 89Jan 24, 2017 12:58 pm Came back from holidays and saw Mainvue has been renamed. Saw the Aegean230 is now the 38 and wow the standard inclusions for the Henley Reserve range is massive. Re: Building an Aegean230 with Mainvue. 90Jan 25, 2017 12:05 am Now just waiting on our sales consultant to review the old quote with the current inclusions to see which one is more cost effective. Re: Building an Aegean230 with Mainvue. 91Jan 25, 2017 7:10 am Should be interesting to see the comparison. Did you have the promotion with the zoned heating, LED lights and double glazing? Also what stage are you at? We have had our colour appointment and are pending tender in a couple of weeks. It'll be interesting to see the current pricing/inclusions and the additional cost of zoned heating, LED, double glazing upgrade. We have made 1/2 a dozen trips to cosham and we can't agree on colours and styles. Once we can agree on a few styles we'll book in our colour . Can I ask which building design you're going with? Re: Building an Aegean230 with Mainvue. 93Jan 26, 2017 6:40 am We are going to be building Aegean230 38. But it's a knock down rebuild that we are doing so just a little more intense than a new block. Colours and styles can be difficult, especially if you and your partner have different opinions. You must be close to Cosham to be able to visit numerous times. I'm sure that you will get there in the end. Good Luck Re: Building an Aegean230 with Mainvue. 94Jan 26, 2017 6:06 pm My partner works in the next suburb so not to much of an issue. We've just done a walk thru of an Aegean 230 that was about 60% complete. Looking at the size and design, we've definitely made the right design choice. It's definitely a stressful process with a new block. I can't even imagine what you're going through with a kd rebuild. You have more patience and funds than I do. Best of luck with your build. Do you have a blog setup for your build? Re: Building an Aegean230 with Mainvue. 95Jan 27, 2017 8:01 am firsttime_homies1401 My partner works in the next suburb so not to much of an issue. Do you have a blog setup for your build? I would love to work in the next suburb haha! But unfortunately I work in Notting Hill/Clayton and it can sometimes to far too long to get to woerk due to all of the traffic How is the block going, do you think its far off? Our block is meant to be still on track for title in june! So we really need to get a move on with the house as we are still at the sales office stage! Building an Aegean230 with Mainvue. 96Jan 27, 2017 10:38 am The Eliston guys are powering through the estate. I've got a thread on the estate if you want so see the progress. We should be titled approx May but secretly hoping it's delayed a tiny bit so we can save $$$ (more $$ more upgrades). We should be starting our builds at roughly the same time which will be interesting so see. Don't worry we're also still at sales stage. We've made a few additional changes to the floor plan so waiting to hear back if it can be done. Have you had a look at the new inclusions now versus your previous inclusions/promo? Building an Aegean230 with Mainvue. 97Mar 02, 2017 8:24 pm We have organised a walk through of a completed Aegean 38 on Sunday. Can't wait as we can actually then get a feel for how big each room actually is. Recently went to Austral Bricks and we now have a small room full of samples from bricks to floorboards to caesarstone and more. We could probably build a mini house with all the samples we've got. Re: Building an Aegean230 with Mainvue. 98Mar 08, 2017 11:08 am Hi firsttime_homies1401 How was the walk thru - was it what you expected? Re: Building an Aegean230 with Mainvue. 99Mar 08, 2017 8:36 pm Rachael13 Hi firsttime_homies1401 How was the walk thru - was it what you expected? We have done a walk through of this house several times during the build. The last one was the best because it wasn't a blinged up display home but what your house may actually look like. This house was very standard (ceilings, kitchen, bathrooms) there were a few upgrades but nothing crazy. The fascade was also standard with the bricks and mortar upgraded. We definitely have chosen the right house plan and are about to book in our colour appointment (we've been to cosham that many times I think we have our own access card). I really need to catch up on your thread. Hopefully your kdr is going smoothly. Re: Building an Aegean230 with Mainvue. 100Mar 19, 2017 10:48 am So we had another meeting with or SC to finalise our quote and structural changes. We've finally placed our next deposit so we can book our colour selections.
