Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Secret Harbour WA Build. Any advice? 41Sep 30, 2016 5:28 pm Have you heard of putting our home to tender? I'm not sure exactly how to do it, but essentially you hire a broker who helps you put together everything you want in a tender document that they then send to a bunch of builders who they know have good track records. The builders will then provide you with a quote and you can choose the best one from that. A family friend is doing this with their new build and apparently its the way to go. Saves you money, and you get to pick exactly what you want for your home. None of this 'designers range' BS. I don't know who our friends are using but a quick google should help you. Might be worth a look. Build Thread | viewtopic.php?f=31&t=84591&p=1601814#p1601814 Design Blog | http://www.bectougas.com.au Instagram | @bec_tougas Re: Secret Harbour WA Build. Definitely agree with the "designer BS promotions" as im a firm believer in nothing is ever free, one of the many reasons we liked the Summit rep was he said that every add on is always incorporated into the build some way, no matter what builder you go with. Hi Doozer, after much deliberation we have decided to build with Summit Homes. New plans are currently being drafted. Any advice? 44Oct 06, 2016 3:46 pm Still waiting on our plans from Summit, hopefully will be sent through to us by the weekend. Thought I'd ask if anyone has used the stone marble look as their kitchen splash back as well as benchtops, we are wanting this look for our kitchen scullery. Would appreciate advice as what material type to use as we want the look to be quite seamless. Any advice? 45Oct 07, 2016 10:25 am Mi Ms Prez, that kitchen does look gorgeous! I'd be worried when it comes to maintenance. My friend got the marble kitchen benches and it started scratching and chipping pretty quickly. I believe he was looking for a way to seal it.I have the marble rangehood breast, and island panel, as well as some entertainment unit benches. Re: Secret Harbour WA Build.
