Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Sep 01, 2016 11:39 pm So we are building with Carlisle and so far so good (if you ignore the delays on land title). BUT, on walkthrough today, I noticed a few things that concern me. Frame stage has just completed (minus any windows as they are "delayed") so I've decided to get an independent inspector to go over the works so far. A few issues like nails exposed, dynabolts in Alfresco area on strange angles and not looking like they are screwed in place correctly in the concrete, split wood frames from nail guns, slab edging etc. For piece of mind I've decided to get an inspection at each stage moving forward so I'll be interested to see how this process works out. It would be so easy just to trust the process that Carlise use but just from my observations, something feels off. Better to be safe than sorry. I'll let you know how it goes....... Re: Building with Carlisle- Sorrento 2Sep 17, 2016 5:38 am So, frame report came back from NHI and it contained a few (25) "easy fix" issues. Nothing too big and they are correcting those as we speak. Very glad that we got that done. Roof tiles have been completed and AC/Heating has being installed. No electrical work yet but plumbing seems to be mostly done for this stage. Our site super (who is great and easy to deal with) has suggested a pre plaster inspection also so I will find out when they are ready for that. Apart from some wether delays and window delays, the build is coming along well and without much issue so far.
