Congratulations Stevieg.
I'm really glad it has all worked out for you. When did you get your sample from Austral? We got ours approx August 2009.
Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Bricks Austral Nougat 42Jul 01, 2010 1:46 am Our build will hopefully start in August as land settles end of July. We are waiting for an investment property to settle which is happening in the next few weeks. I will absolutely keep in touch once it starts. If for no other reason than to post some photos as i just love looking at everyone else's and feel i should return the favour! Where are you building?[/quote] Hi bobbaloochi, We're building in Pakenham, Victoria. We should have started AGES AGO as the land should have titled in Feb 2010, and it still isn't titled now! However there is some light at the end of the tunnel, apparently it should title in the next few days so settlement within the next couple of weeks. So we should start around the same time as you. The builder has booked us in for an August site start. The wait is driving us crazy (and so are all the thousands of dollars in late fees!) however it has now worked out for the best as we have now decided to change to a different house plan hence need the extra time to get new contracts drawn up etc. Keep in touch. Re: Bricks Austral Nougat 44Jul 01, 2010 8:33 pm I got my original Nougat sample early to mid 2009. As per my previous post, this sample used a beige coloured base brick as opposed to the current version that uses the crappy orange base brick. This means the outer colour of the two versions are clearly a different colour. The current version actually looks pink. What astounds me, is that Austral made this change but still market the brick as 'Nougat'. If you look at my blog post of 15 May (steviegsinspiration.blogspot.com) I've posted a picture of a house built with the current Nougats next door to a house built with the old version. It's a no brainer! If I can be of any help to anyone feel free to send me a private message. Steve. Re: Bricks Austral Nougat 45Jul 02, 2010 4:05 pm OKAY well I am not sure what is going to happen with my colour choice of Nougat then!! Considering they are not due to start pouring slab for another month or two perhaps they might run out and we will get to choose another brick!! Can only hope as I don't think I really want to use this one anymore. Didn't realise they had changed the brick but it makes sense now that Steve has said it. Very happy for you Steve that it's all worked out well, your new brick looks fab!
