Hi all

So after many visits to this site my fiancée are delighted to finally commence our building journey!!

We have just finished the process of acquiring a block of land at a lovely new estate in Evanston gardens called Orleana Waters.

We have purchased a 500sqm block (12.5x40) and have recently started pre construction with statesman homes to build the Greenock MKII

We have added various things which I will go into more detail with once we receive our master plans in around 2 weeks!

Super excited to build our dream/first home and look forward to sharing it with you all!

Hi again everyone so just wanted to provide an update that settlement on the land went through

Will post again hopefully next week with master plans attached! Exciting times ahead

Hi everyone super sorry the delay in posting any updates.

So as you can imagine allot has happened since 01st of April

-Selections have been completed with costing's now finalised
-All stages of council have been approved.
-All plans and documents signed off on ready to be released to Construction

All we are waiting on now is you guessed it the bank lol

Mortgage application was placed through on Monday Night and it will a bit of a wait as our bank is at 9day timeframe to pick the loan up and then we have to of course have valuation and so on, super nervous about the valuation hopefully it comes to the right price.

Exciting times none the less!

They banks can be painful. We are awaiting council approval. We too have also had bank issues. The valuation came in a fair bit under apparently so have just submitted a fencing and window covering quotes which will hopefully help. Good luck.

thought I would provide everyone with an update.

So we had 2 valautions conducted against our current build but they came well under were we needed to be and are now in the process of contacting some other builders and can already see we were getting severely ripped off

Will hopefully have an update soon RE what happens next!

Wow that's no good at all. Did you sign a contract with your builder? Are you going to now build with someone else?

Building with Simonds in S.A

Hi everyone,

Finally some good news to report. We engaged with another builder and are doing a custom design with Fairmont.

We were extremely impressed with how much they were prepared to get our pride down and are now well under budget but unfortunately have to start pre construction again!

Hopefully with a new builder/better price the valuation will be allot better when we get to that!
