Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Aug 26, 2016 2:09 pm Dear all. I would like to get some advices from members in the forum. I am building a house in a community title land in Adelaide. The land has three lots in it. Mine is the inner most one and is on a very gentle slope down from the street. So my house is slightly lower from the street. During the construction, I know that I will need to build a sump pump and pit to discharge the surface storm water. The builder is not responsible for that. It is okay and I will do it after handover. I am fine with it. The problem now is: the builder suddenly now says that the sewer discharge is also too low that another pump and pit are needed to discharge the sewage. This is totally new information. My question is: Can the builder do this? Shouldn't it know in advance whether the pump is needed or not in advance that they should let me know when they quote the building cost. I feel that the builder is not doing their job properly and is now transferring its cost to me. I am very eager to know what you think about this. Can builder charges like this? If not, is there anything I can do. Helps are needed. Looking forward to your assistance and helps. Thanks, AC180.
