Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Building our first house with Aspect Homes Qld 61Nov 30, 2016 7:12 am Lol thanks Charli bear. We had planned to go handleless but things were starting to add up so we agreed to can it, to save costs. We are a week behind schedule be we are in the 7th week of the build. There is progress everyday which is fabulous especially after following other people arduous builds. The hardest bit will be seeing it sit dormant over the xmas break. We are also looking at changing the wall colour as terrace white is making the tiles look a bit blue/purple. Looking a something with a hint of brown like brume half. Hubby being a Painter I feel he's carrying a great sense of responsibility to get the colours perfect. Re: Building our first house with Aspect Homes Qld 62Dec 02, 2016 5:13 pm Went to talk to the Chippies today about front door locks. All the architraves are on and the skirting in the carpeted rooms. The other skirting will go on after tiles. Going to meet with the tiler on Sunday to go over details of tiling and he should be there starting on Monday. I'm soo excited to see the tiling I can barely wait. Our shed dudes have stuffed us around. Went with them, nearly two months ago as they said the could complete it before Christmas. Now we'll be lucky to have a slab poured before xmas. :/ Re: Building our first house with Aspect Homes Qld 63Dec 05, 2016 10:41 am So a dissapointing start to the tiling. I really wanted to have them laid in a cross hatch pattern but they are not perfectly square. :/ we are going to have everything them laid all in one direction I love the tiles so I don't want to change them but would have loved to lay them Cross hatched. Tiling should take a couple of weeks. Re: Building our first house with Aspect Homes Qld 64Dec 05, 2016 12:23 pm List of things to do. They are really flying. Bummer about the tiles. I'm sure they will still look lovely. I love the bright stria. It matches well with your gutters. I'm surprised your eaves are done as well. You better get on with your packing. You will be moving in a month if they keep going at this rate. Your builders are flying (I know I say that every time you update). How is the outside coming along? I just went back and saw that your slab was poured 3 days after us and you are so much further along. Re: Building our first house with Aspect Homes Qld 73Dec 13, 2016 7:14 am Thanks ajb. We know the builder personally plus they only have a couple of other small houses under construction atm. The outside will fall behind schedule by about a month. As the deck and rendering was suppose to happen within this week but has been put off till next year. Floor tiles have finished and we choose the grout today. They just have bathroom walls to go. I have to sort out the shed slab today as they've contracted some cowboy concreter who is good at digging in a straight line or forming a rectangle. :/ Thankfully they haven't poured the concrete yet. I feel like a kid every time I go out, I just want it done already. Re: Building our first house with Aspect Homes Qld 74Dec 13, 2016 1:12 pm Subscribing to your thread for updates and more photos to drool over, you are building a beautiful home! And your front door.... wow! It is stunning!!! Can't wait to see the expense tile waste insert complete. 3/4 of the shed slab excavation was fixed, they just have to dig the piers before pouring the concrete. I hate having to supervise and project manage things when you're paying someone else to do the work. Definitely will not be giving our shed people a good review once complete.
