Re: Dennis Family homes build in Melbourne west. Venetia 23 4Aug 23, 2016 2:20 pm Nice floor plan.. are you planning to convert the living behind master as a 4th bedroom? Love the internal colour choices and darker roof Re: Dennis Family homes build in Melbourne west. Venetia 23 5Aug 23, 2016 2:58 pm Hi we are using the living room as a computer room/ guitar room for my parter (man cave lol) and adding sliding doors. The study is getting a door added and we are using it as a linen/storage room. The play room will be for all my daughters toys, we think its a great size house for the size they squeezed alot into 23 squares Re: Dennis Family homes build in Melbourne west. Venetia 23 11Sep 06, 2016 4:54 pm Thanks for reading everyone, we are still waiting on full finance approval and have just found out we need to pay a council infrastructure levy of $900, which will cover some parks and tennis courts near us, we were not told about this when we paid the land deposit so we are a bit annoyed but oh well Re: Dennis Family homes build in Melbourne west. Venetia 23 13Oct 06, 2016 9:07 am Well we have had an eventful few weeks, as our land was 85 days over settlement date (finance delays) and we were being charged interest for every day over ( from the land agents), so in total it was $4200!!!! we had no idea this was even happening as our broker had said everything was fine and we have not had any contact with our conveyancer as he did all communications though our broker, our conveyancer got us out of the huge fine but we still had to pay a fee $1200 added to the mortgage, p*&ssed off would be an understatement, we are happy to not be paying 4 grand but still angry we were not told about this charge or we may have waited a bit to put a deposit down, as we knew our loan approval may be delayed. Just a huge warning to anyone thinking of building things like this do happen when you are not prepared or know what you are doing, we are first home buyers so slightly naive to all this but we were putting all our faith in our conveyencer and broker guide us but this isn't always the case. We were also hoping to get back 5 grand from the first home owners grant but after all the council fees and other charges we were left worth only grand or 2 to save, so money is tight, this is still exciting but definitely put us off building in the future the stress, drama and cost is not worth it. Currently we are still waiting on council approval before our slab is lad, so hopefullly in the next few weeks Re: Dennis Family homes build in Melbourne west. FHOG.Veneti 14Oct 06, 2016 9:24 am How awful! Hope council approval comes through quickly for you.
