I need the full address to have a look thanks. Much appreciated! Re: My Metricon Bordeaux 56 build 44Aug 28, 2016 4:21 pm Hi all that's ok I have got in contact with SC at Metricon. They said the Doulton display won't be ready for another six months. They said the Doulton display won't be ready for another six months. From what I've been told it'll be ready in October so 6 months doesn't seem right. Might be a sales tactic to get you signed quickly. I just drove past before and snapped this photo. Can't be too far away from completion. We visited the Bordeaux display and the SC seem a bit unclear so we don't feel right. Also, the display facade isn't what's on their website so it's a bit strange. Might have to visit once it's done. I guess you can't see what's happening on the inside. Am very interested in seeing this when completed! Second Build, this time with Carlisle 2016, can't wait! We visited the Bordeaux display and the SC seem a bit unclear so we don't feel right. Also, the display facade isn't what's on their website so it's a bit strange. Might have to visit once it's done. Just remember it's a display home. They make modifications even to the facade so it might not be what you're used to. Even the face for the "Somerset" display in glen waverley is not standard. The standard has a fully rendered facade. The display has some bricks and a part of it has been elevated. If you wanted to match the facade for the Somerset display then you have to pay $$$ to upgrade. Looks like they are doing a similar thing with the Doulton display using a blend of bricks.Normally the nice exterior features are standard for the front elevation. The rear and back elevations are left standard. You have to upgrade if you want it to match. I believe there will be addition mouldings and window architraves on the side elevations for the doulton display and that will not be a standard inclusion for you. I am currently getting a post construction variation for additional mouldings for my side elevations and i expect it to cost around 10K. Re: My Metricon Bordeaux 56 build 50Aug 30, 2016 10:49 am Wow, I am new to this building and honestly it seems quiet daunting with all these add-ons the builders want to charge it's not what you see what you get for the standard price. But still worth it in the end in my opinion. Thanks Vuster. But still worth it in the end in my opinion. Thanks Vuster. No problems. You'll get the hang of it soon. I only know now because i've gone through my contract and the displayed option list a million times. These displays are in the metro area and I would imagine that the amount of upgrades on display are targeted for that demographic. If you go to the displays in the outer suburbs the display will be more standard so less surprises. Also, the display facade isn't what's on their website so it's a bit strange. Might have to visit once it's done. Who did you see? Ours was good and very helpful. Her name is Melissa and is based in the Bordeaux display. Re: My Metricon Bordeaux 56 build 55Aug 30, 2016 6:34 pm I saw a Chinese lady at their display in Balwyn. Cannot recall her name. I have heard of Melissa through someone but she was busy Re: My Metricon Bordeaux 56 build 56Sep 06, 2016 2:32 pm vuster My experience with Lighting: From the beginning of my building journey I made a decision to try and match the display home as much as my pocket could afford. Obviously it's an expensive exercise but I didn't want to risk selecting colours/finishes that would deviate from the display home. After all, it's like I'm getting a free interior designer. What I've discovered is that Metricon cannot build you the Bordeaux exactly as displayed. They have a set of suppliers that you must choose your selections from. e.g. Tiling is done via Beaumont Tiles and lighting via Beacon Lighting. The annoying thing for me was that they could not provide me with all the displayed Bordeaux lights. Its one one of the things that really make the home striking. At the electrical appointment the consultant had a spreadsheet with the bordeaux display lights and their equivalent match from Beacon lighting. They were a terrible match. I opted to leave the feature lights out and source them myself. With a bit of help from my sales consultant I managed to find most of them. Here's a list of the main Bordeaux display lights and where I managed to find them from: WIR pendant(Antaro 60) Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Hallway candle lights. These were about $400 each. Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Kitchen pendants. I had to get them shipped from Perth: Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Dining room light. I discovered that this light is custom made by Mayfield lamps.who are wholesalers and do not deal direct to the public. I managed to get a lighting company to get a quote on my behalf and it turned out to be 3-4K so I found an alternative which was a longer version of the kitchen pendant! Cheers Uyen Hi Uyen, Yes I did manage to locate the vendor for the portico pendant however they no longer supply that light. Its the same vendor that I bought the wall candle lights from. https://customlighting.com.au/product-c ... itional-2/ They are in Armadale and have some nice lighting but expect to pay $$$ for the lights. Please check your private message as I'd like to exchange info with you. I contacted Guess Group to see if I could buy furniture through them since they furnished the Bordeaux display but they don't deal direct to the public however they did refer me to someone else who could help me. Vuster Re: My Metricon Bordeaux 56 build 59Sep 06, 2016 9:53 pm M are still in the process of installing the Hebel on my house. It's good to see that they don't most of the first floor as well as the outdoor area. I expect things should progress nicely once the scaffolding arrives which should be this week hopefully. I had to contact the council's compliance officer to get him to chase the concreter up. They'll have to come back and drill the hole for storm water pipe. They didn't even bother to clean up the area. Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ The cross over goes over to my side of the block which doesn't leave much room for my future cross over. The council's compliance office told me that a crossover would only fit if I join it to the neighbours. This is due to tree on the nature strip and their rule which says that the cross over must be at least 2m away from it. I wanted my own large cross over so the only option was to get approval to remove the tree. Council came back and it was about $3440. That's 3300 just for the "value of the tree" and $140 for the cost of removing it. It would of taken them 20 minutes to get rid of the tree. See below showing tree on the left.
