I built this myself, however I got someone to render it since they were already doing my front fence. It fits between the house and the outdoor pillar. Tiles were left over from the house build, and I bought the bench top off cuts and installed myself. About 4K in materials/appliances. Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ looks awesome !!! Re: My Metricon Bordeaux 56 build 1003Jul 30, 2020 12:26 pm Indeed, sensational - what material did you use for the benchtop? We were going to use corian but the heat from bbq means they need a stainless steel strip all the way around, adding a lot of cost. So we might just go with granite Re: My Metricon Bordeaux 56 build 1004Aug 04, 2020 10:14 am jsmi Indeed, sensational - what material did you use for the benchtop? I built the frame using wood so heat was a big concern for me. I insulated the wood with fireproofing sheeting between the timber and Blue board cement sheeting. I did not block the rear vent of the bbq so their is actually a void behind with no bench top. The bench top is engineered and I believe that is fireproof also. Incase anyone sees this message, would you happen to know please what interior colours were used in the SYDNEY Bordeaux display home for: - internal wall paint - kitchen cabinets Thanks so much in advance! Re: My Metricon Bordeaux 56 build 1006Aug 17, 2020 2:16 pm We are building Bordeaux with Metricon in Sydney. Just wondering has anyone successfully negotiated to install the rainwater system themselves after hand over? The reason being we want to do underground water tank system and Metricon is extremely slow and not responsive. So it got me thinking to engage other professionals. Thanks heaps! How has the Hebel held up and have you had any issues with it? Would you recommend? Thanks Re: My Metricon Bordeaux 56 build 1009Feb 25, 2021 11:16 am Bcr83 Hi, I am looking at building a large Metricon home in Sydney and deciding between a Hebel ground floor or Brick. How has the Hebel held up and have you had any issues with it? Would you recommend? Thanks Have you considered Brink on ground and hebel on first? Looks great and better insulations upstairs around bedrooms Re: My Metricon Bordeaux 56 build 1011Feb 25, 2021 11:42 am Bcr83 I like the idea of better insulation but wanting cladding on facade for top floor.... I think cladding has reasonable insulation properties?? Hebel has probably the best insulation. Followed by cladding. Note that cladding is popular in the US because its cheap over there. But in australia it isnt much cheaper then hebel. Are you going for cladding because of the looks? Re: My Metricon Bordeaux 56 build 1013Mar 01, 2021 11:11 am I think Hebel has been around for a while do should be good. Im mostly going with Hebel becauyse of the insulation and also prefer the rendered look Hi, First of all, thank you to this community for sharing your thoughts and opinions.
