Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Aug 20, 2016 7:38 pm Hi everyone I have been reading lots of posts on this forum and making notes of things to include in our 'wants'. This place is unbelivebly informative! We are in the very early stages of meeting with our chosen builder and I have one question....probably will have heaps. Insulation. In our price guide it says insulation to external walls including garage internal wall to house and ceiling. So the internal walls aren't insulated. Is this normal? Id assume it would be beneficial to insulate internal walls for sound and heating/cooling? Do most people upgrade? Thanks Mel Re: First timers 2Aug 29, 2016 10:00 am It's not normal to insulate internal walls. They will do the garage if not doing the ceiling in there as the garage will heat up and transfer to house - otherwise my house is having insulation in the roof of the garage so they did the external wall of my garage. We paid extra for insulation and soundproof plaster stuff between 2 bedrooms as the 12yo doesn't want to be woken by the 2yo. I know others will do their lounge/media rooms. Otherwise it's normal for no internal insulation - plus be a pain to run cables through at a later date. ~Shellby~ GJ Bridgewater 203 11/3/2016 - Site Work Started 29/9/2016 - Handover 142 Work Days 6 Work Days Over https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=80174 11 41671 Thank you.
