Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Better Built Homes 57Dec 13, 2016 6:57 pm Hi Guys, Glad to have found this thread We have a tender presentation this Friday with Jeff. We are looking at building the Astoria 39. Has anyone built this before? Been dealing with Neel as well and found him to be quite helpful. Any tips guys for the tender? Did most of you sign on the day? James Re: Better Built Homes 58Dec 13, 2016 10:41 pm Welcome to our growing club james32. Astoria 39 is a beautiful home. I reckon you would probably be one of the first people to build that one but i could be wrong. Neel is very good and we found Jeff helpful. We signed our tender on the day. Having said that we took our time and double and triple checked all aspects of the tender. Make sure you compare your tender details with what they state in the advertising magazine they give you. I double checked that we had nylon flyscreens as well as colour to the full driveway. We also made sure that everything we were promised was included in the tender at the price agreed upon in our initial consultations. Looking forward to hearing about your journey as well. All the best. Re: Better Built Homes 59Dec 14, 2016 4:32 pm Thanks Krusade. That kind of makes me worried that it could be one of the first ones built... I will make sure to double check the inclusions and what's on the tender. I am disappointed at the level of flooring inclusions, both the tiles and carpet are pretty average. I am looking at doing vinyl flooring both upstairs and down stairs, the range of vinyl at Image Carpet and Blinds at Emu Plains is quite good - Interested to see how much extra this will be. Neel quoted 18k extra!! If that's the case I will consider getting the flooring done externally then through BBH. Also most builders include the ensuite as floor to ceiling tiles, however BBH does not. You have to pay extra directly to Colortile. I wonder how much that will be? Yeah we decided to do our own flooring and 18k was the quote we got from a separate flooring company. I agree with the flooring. Colortile has bad selections and equally bad service. Floor to ceiling in each bathroom is roughly 2.5 to 3k per bathroom. If you want rectified tiles extra. If you want anything outside the selection it is extra again of course. I will let you know how we go with our final selections brokers will also be in a position to get you a better rate than the advertised rate most times. 6 7847 Bigger the better for storage for me IMO. But I guess it's harder to tell the cost/benefit in your example - mainly the 'cost'? If you go 700mm, what are you doing extra… 2 2873 4 1851 |
