Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Building the Bella with Homes by CMA in North Harbour, S 181Jul 02, 2017 10:43 pm Oh, I have just checked (I knew I had read a date somewhere) I swear my brain has turned to mush with all of this. Thanks for that! It is way into August/late August, so I feel like that is nowhere near accurate at all. What date did yours commence lovely? I think they keep forgetting that I am not having landscaping etc done by them, so they have added all of that on. Update: Driveway in, render done and finished (very nervous about that actually, so I will drive up and look this week), tiles done and all of that stuff. I am assuming painting will be started and finished both inside and out this week and then hopefully appliances, lights, fans etc. I'm really not sure of the stages at this point (what happens when). Yay - keep me updated! Re: Building the Bella with Homes by CMA in North Harbour, S 182Jul 10, 2017 1:34 pm So the builders left a door unlocked this weekend, and I managed to stick my head in for a look. I am SOOOOO thrilled with how it's all coming together, and I cannot *wait* to move in, the house has a fabulous vibe about it. I can almost picture my belongings in their places, it's such a great feeling isn't it? Tiling & splashbacks, grouting Painting (not external) Shower screens, wardrobe doors & mirrors installed Shelving & wardrobes fitted Things they're doing this week: Driveway Exterior paint - done 10/7 Stain front door Electrical fitout - done 10/7 Aircon install Fencing External termite treatment Next week: Plumbing install Hot Water system landscaping carpets security screens Week after : paint touchups (including painting my feature wall) kitchen appliances - dishwasher, range cooker & exhaust install Front door hardware fit (owner-supplied) Hopefully, at the end of the week, PCI!!!!!!! Things I've pickup up on already which need to be fixed: - There's a huge gash in the render at front door - They installed a 4th shelf on both sides of WIP - one side they were meant to skip the 4th shelf, so I could put my appliances in there. Still not sure if I will bother getting them to correct this... - Cowl to be fitted to WC vent pipe - ceiling network point missing - tiling in WIL, fridge void, and to back side of kitchen island all looks poor, will wait for PCI to see if they rectify this - dimmer switches in lounge and dining aren't the same - exterior frontage with feature stacker stone wall - top of wall incomplete Re: Building the Bella with Homes by CMA in North Harbour, S 186Jul 10, 2017 6:50 pm This is all looks amazing, I am glad they are getting the job done. Unfortunately I have had to send a huge, angry complaint email (my first) to them tonight, as visiting my house after a week of not going has resulted in tears. The have done NOTHING all week, nothing and have actually gone backwards. They have ripped out all of my skirting boards (why I will never know), my brand new driveway which was laid on Friday the 30th and is unsealed has a giant skip on it and has been stained by rust and other rubbish. The tiling is still not finished and there about 3 cigarette butts in each room.. my house stinks of smoke. No painting done like promised, absolutely nothing more done. No confirmed PCI date (as the one on my paperwork is very wrong), haven't been told what is being done when.... exhausted and defeated. SO please for you ladies on both CMA forums that your houses are being done so quickly! Oh Maddie I'm so sorry this was your week to get cranky at them. I hope your complaint actually gets you somewhere. I complained all the way up the ladder to the Managng Director. It's been three weeks and I've not heard a peep from him yet he has totally utterly ignored me. I'd never ever recommend CMA to anyone. If you need to vent and prefer to do so in PM you're always welcome to vent - 1sttimer and I have both been in your shoes. *hugs* Re: Building the Bella with Homes by CMA in North Harbour, S 190Jul 11, 2017 9:12 am It was bound to be my time at some point! Sorry to hijack your post. I received a reply from the admin girls (not my supervisor) and it was basically just undermining my complaint and everything I said. They just told me not to go on site as I am not allowed and that it is a legal requirement to book an appointment to see the house. So, I guess they're thinking that if I am not allowed on site, I won't see the problems, cigarette butts and stains etc. Their answer to everything was that it will be 'cleaned' at the end and I wouldn't know. But I do know as I can smell it, the house stinks! I have demanded an end date and I have demanded a schedule of work, kind of like you have put above. Hopefully I get both. Keep us updated, I will PM you if anything arises from my complaint. I know, right? When we were lushing it up in March in NZ my plans were rejected by council (I came home to a tonne of emails and voicemails from the builders), so they had to be redone, that plus approvals and all of this building has happened since then. Crazy how fast it all comes together once you press that big red "Go" button Re: Building the Bella with Homes by CMA in North Harbour, S 193Jul 11, 2017 11:27 am scubabe blackcat20 Can't believe how fast your house has gone up, I can only hope ours moves at a similar pace. Crazy how fast it all comes together once you press that big red "Go" button I'm loving your use of neutrals; I'm trying to do the same. It can be brightened up with prints on the walls, textiles etc. Husband hasnt disagreed with anything I've suggested yet... Save Re: Building the Bella with Homes by CMA in North Harbour, S 194Jul 19, 2017 9:37 am I am getting concerned as to whether we will meet PCI date or not... I still don't have a driveway, a fence, landscaping, aircon, window screens, carpet, letterbox, clothes line, there's more painting to do, caulking... and the SS initially said PCI date was 25/7. I'm thinking it won't be until 28/7 on contract date, or maybe even later. Oh well, if it's delayed it's not that big of a deal really, I will just need to put my belongings into storage and take the dog to a friend's place. Things they were supposed to do last week: Exterior paint - done Electrical fitout - done External termite treatment - done Driveway - STILL NOT DONE Stain front door - STILL NOT DONE Aircon install - STILL NOT DONE Fencing - STILL NOT DONE Things they are supposed to be doing this week: Plumbing install - done Hot Water system - done Appliance install - done landscaping carpets security screens Week after : paint touchups (including painting my feature wall) Front door hardware fit (owner-supplied) PCI - SS indicates 25/7, contract indicates 28/7 Things I've pickup up on already which need to be fixed: - There's a huge gash in the render at front door - They installed a 4th shelf on both sides of WIP - one side they were meant to skip the 4th shelf, so I could put my appliances in there. Wish i had those skills. I don't think many of those things left to do should take long. Fingers crossed everything gets sorted for you Re: Building the Bella with Homes by CMA in North Harbour, S 198Jul 21, 2017 11:16 am Hi lovely (will reply to your PM soon) I am so happy that it is all coming along nicely. But it does sound like they have lots to do, what a pain. At least your SS has been communicating though, I have had NO replies to anything and have been cut off from communication. I snuck in yesterday and they had left the aircon running (gr) but now I have been able to see why they have been so secretive. It has all been delayed because they have pulled skirting boards out and the tiling in the bathrooms is still not finished. So they can't commence plumbing and my main flooring until that is finished. If it wasn't for that, I would give it a week. But no doubt the tiling will continue to take his time. We seem to both be in limbo - aaah! Re: Building the Bella with Homes by CMA in North Harbour, S 199Jul 21, 2017 8:19 pm maddielouxx I snuck in yesterday and they had left the aircon running (gr) But yay that you have an aircon unit! I don't have one yet Quote: because they have pulled skirting boards out and the tiling in the bathrooms is still not finished. Oooooh I wonder why they had to do that? Unless the tiler pulled them off to tile better? Re: Building the Bella with Homes by CMA in North Harbour, S 200Jul 21, 2017 8:25 pm I have a PCI date!!! Woohoo!!! PCI set for 9am next Thursday, 27 July. So exciting! Things they were supposed to do the week before last that still haven't been done: Driveway - STILL NOT DONE Stain front door - STILL NOT DONE Aircon install - STILL NOT DONE Things they were supposed to do last week: Plumbing install - done Hot Water system - done Appliance install - done carpets - done security screens - done landscaping - STILL NOT DONE Things they have scheduled for next week: paint touchups (including painting my feature wall) Front door hardware fit (owner-supplied) PCI - 27/7 Things I've pickup up on already which need to be fixed: - There's a huge gash in the render at front door - They installed a 4th shelf on both sides of WIP - one side they were meant to skip the 4th shelf, so I could put my appliances in there. I'd like to leave it, but I don't want the estate to hound me to fix it after handover May I ask why you chose not to use GJ Gardiner? I'm actually meeting with one of the sales guys tomorrow for an appointment. Definitely not signing anything yet… 3 13575 The warning is on the sticker on the door too.
