Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Aug 09, 2016 10:14 am Hello all - I'm new here but not new to building. We are about to embark on our first build with a bigger builder. The last 2 homes have been owner build (which I'd do again in a heartbeat after this!). We had all our colours chosen and were set to sign when we found out that the Significant Landscape Overlay Planning Permit we are requited to get - doesn't allow for a Monument roof. I'm over the disappointment now but am back to the drawing board. We are using Boral/PGH Mocha bricks and we were having Monument Roof, Fascia, Gutter and windows. We are having dune eaves. We are now strongly heading toward Jasper roof/gutter with dune fascia and 1/2 strength dune eaves. My dilemma is whether to do Jasper windows or if monument would still look ok? Has any one done any of these combinations or similar. I can't find a single thing on line showing me some images. To add to everything we live relatively remotely and I can't go driving around looking. Any thoughts would be appreciated - although I fully understand it's in the eyes of the beholder! Re: Help with colour schemes 2Aug 09, 2016 1:48 pm I would go monument because I'm not a big fan of jasper. Lol But jasper will look very browny on frames imo. Re: Help with colour schemes 3Aug 09, 2016 1:51 pm Skipped a bit of your post. Jasper is a nice roof colour, again personally I wouldn't go a dark roof and Would go lighter on your soffit than 1/2 dune. Like surf mist. Ps hubby is Painter so deals with these colours daily. Re: Help with colour schemes 4Aug 10, 2016 11:33 am Thanks for sharing your thoughts I'm starting to move toward Gully roof & gutters/Dune Fascia and 1/4 strength on the eaves. I wish I could have stayed with Monument....but we are not allowed White/Black/Blue on Roof/Fascia/Gutters. Re: Help with colour schemes 5Aug 12, 2016 10:06 pm Gee, is that you covenant? What colour are your exterior walls? Brick, cladding, render? Re: Help with colour schemes 6Aug 14, 2016 10:25 pm Yes - that is our covenant and it stinks! What is most frustrating is that the block next door which has the same Significant Landscape Overlay has been cheeky and have put on a white roof which is also not allowed. What will the Council do - ask them to remove/paint it! We would push the envelope - but our builder (understandably) won't! Re: Help with colour schemes 8Aug 16, 2016 11:23 am If you were to be cheeky shale grey roof can look lighter than the actual colour when on the roof. Re: Help with colour schemes 9Aug 16, 2016 2:45 pm How in the world to I attach a photo!?! Hope this works! IMG_1904.JPG Re: Help with colour schemes 11Aug 16, 2016 5:04 pm Thanks Craigasaurus. So how do I make it work? I can't see anything that allows me to attach a file. Re: Help with colour schemes 13Aug 17, 2016 8:23 am I am in full editor but still can't seem to add an image. I see the Img box above - but if I click on it - it brings up exactly this:....and now if I try and show you what it brings up - it disappears. Maybe it's my browser. I'll try another browser! Re: Help with colour schemes 14Aug 17, 2016 8:27 am Exactly the same in Chrome as Safari. It just brings up the img in square brackets. Help! Re: Help with colour schemes 15Aug 18, 2016 11:19 am The other option is to upload the image to a free site like: www.postimage.org The post the link here. Re: Help with colour schemes 16Aug 18, 2016 2:09 pm I just use the app on my phone and am able to load pics easily. I'm not that tech savvy either. Re: Help with colour schemes 18Aug 18, 2016 2:40 pm What is the app? Can't find Homeone in the app store Re: Help with colour schemes 20Aug 18, 2016 7:21 pm And then homeone forum is in tapatalk. Hope that makes sense. Thankyou so much 😀 I've decided on White on white for doors and trims, White on white 50% on ceiling and Mt buller for walls. Fingers crossed it will look OK 😀 2 7157 Thank you @. Tried to play with the facade models but the exact colour is not matching up. 2 3258 Hi there, we have classic cream gutters, fascia’s, roller door and undercover carport. We are are going to paint the roof a terracotta orange colour. After some… 0 4500 |
