Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Aug 09, 2016 9:28 am Thought it might be nice to start one centralised topic since I know there are a few building with different builders at the moment. I think all up I've seen six or seven who are building in our group of estates? I figure this is a good way to keep each other updated with what's happening, ask questions etc. For those who I haven't talked to in here yet, we built in Stage 10 Mayfield, started building in Jan, moved in in June. We're almost at 2 months in our new home Progress we've seen... Very cool that the connections from Livingston through to Mayfield are close to completion. Last weekend Nelson looked like it was ready to go I think (need to take a wander over there) and my husband said the curbs are in for the Parkhurst connection. We're just waiting for Elliburn to be joined. It seems kind of surreal given how little existed in the area when we first put a deposit down on our land in Feb 15, at that time joining the various estates seemed like a pipe dream. For those who haven't discovered it yet (because it took us two weeks then happened upon it by accident!) Shopping on Clyde is awesome.... from Mayfield you can go up Lineham to Casey Fields boulevard but eventually Elliburn will be better. There's a large & often quite empty Coles, lots of parking, the pharmacy there is really great too. Oh, and the fish & chips place Would love to hear the progress of anyone about to or still building Building a Porter Davis Livingstone 23 in Mayfield, Cranbourne East | Our thread 18/05/15 - Contract Signed 24/12/15 - Land Settlement 30/1/16 - Slab poured 9/06/16 - Handover Re: Mayfield/Livingston/Parks Edge/Grow estates 2Aug 09, 2016 5:56 pm Good news for those in Parks Edge, just saw a lot of your streets have popped up in Google Maps. Still a lot of Mayfield & Livingston missing though Building a Porter Davis Livingstone 23 in Mayfield, Cranbourne East | Our thread 18/05/15 - Contract Signed 24/12/15 - Land Settlement 30/1/16 - Slab poured 9/06/16 - Handover Re: Mayfield/Livingston/Parks Edge/Grow estates 3Aug 11, 2016 4:48 pm Eliburn connection coming along nicely Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Parkhurst connection nearly done! Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ I remember thinking when we put our deposit down that it might take 4-5 years for the estates to connect, now it's all sold out it's great to see they haven't delayed this work. Thieves seem to be after tools but they've been getting increasingly smart. If you want more details contact me. We're worried because our neighbour just spotted a car casing the joint tonight - on Eliburn near Boon Warrung. Very nervous Building a Porter Davis Livingstone 23 in Mayfield, Cranbourne East | Our thread 18/05/15 - Contract Signed 24/12/15 - Land Settlement 30/1/16 - Slab poured 9/06/16 - Handover Re: Mayfield/Livingston/Parks Edge/Grow estates 6Aug 23, 2016 8:09 pm puglover my husband was followed home by a slow moving car the other night, which then stopped at the end of our street and idled for a few mins before driving off. Definitely dodge. Jeepers. Our other neighbours called the cops (who they'd already been in touch with when the thieves tried to break into his work ute parked outside their home - the thieves aren't bright because they also broke the padlock on their side gate, got it jammed and couldn't open it) who said there wasn't much that could be done because there was no actual crime but that they'd try to send a patrol over at some point. My husband suffers from anxiety and is very worried. So far we're the only house that's moved in on our street that hasn't been hit Building a Porter Davis Livingstone 23 in Mayfield, Cranbourne East | Our thread 18/05/15 - Contract Signed 24/12/15 - Land Settlement 30/1/16 - Slab poured 9/06/16 - Handover Mayfield/Livingston/Parks Edge/Grow estates 7Aug 23, 2016 8:28 pm Car is still there, it's been 2.5 hours now ... and we just went to chat to some other neighbours and we caught it driving away. Fingers crossed nothing else happens to anyone tonight Building a Porter Davis Livingstone 23 in Mayfield, Cranbourne East | Our thread 18/05/15 - Contract Signed 24/12/15 - Land Settlement 30/1/16 - Slab poured 9/06/16 - Handover Re: Mayfield/Livingston/Parks Edge/Grow estates 8Aug 27, 2016 2:56 pm Very scary that this has all started escalating in the last few months In 2 weeks there will be a "Casey Residents Crime Prevention Gathering" for the community to get together and discuss how to help prevent these crimes from continuing, etc. There will be police and members of local council there. Worth looking at, the event is on Facebook. We will be moving in during the next month, what kind of home security measures do you have/would consider having? Re: Mayfield/Livingston/Parks Edge/Grow estates 9Aug 27, 2016 3:50 pm We're looking to get an alarm system but we're fully insured and don't want to turn our place into Fort Knox by adding security grilles or anything like that - personal preference. Our place is fully fenced and secured and I would recommend getting that sorted just as soon as you can after you move in. The first robbery happened to someone whose fencing wasn't finished. It's horrible that people even consider breaking into someone's house. This was one of my biggest concerns being a new area and not knowing if the houses around us we're going up at the same time. We have that much security going in once we get the keys they wouldn't want to try our place....
