Simon As TDD said....once designed it depends upon the complexity of the wall, a simple steel post and sleeper wall could be built by a landscaper, on the other end of the scale you buy need more "builder" type resources - concreter, bricklayers, etc. mmm....donuts Homer Simpson 1956- Links: Site Costs Ready Reckoner | H1 Addiction Medical Advice | Château TDL: The Backyard Re: retaining walls 4Aug 04, 2008 9:17 pm Not that I am very good site plans but it I think it is 1400 high. My brother's getting a landscape gardener to do his garden including "engineered" retaining walls in Macleod (touch over 1 m)....the landscapers yet to start but if he does a good job I'll pass his name on... Please remind me what stage are you at. I seem to recall you posting about site costs. Is this for the garden or as part of site works - if part of site works you may be better off getting the builder to do it anyway and therefore they guarantee the works and carry the risks of building and constructing. mmm....donuts Homer Simpson 1956- Links: Site Costs Ready Reckoner | H1 Addiction Medical Advice | Château TDL: The Backyard Re: retaining walls 6Aug 05, 2008 5:41 am This is for the the backyard and nothing to do with the building scope. If we don't build the backyard up it will quite a drop down and I fear we won't use it. Our back yard is not very big and I don't want to lessen it by having to put in stairs down to it. It will be much harder to do after the frame goes up so I'm in a bit of a rush. The retaining walls for our house are in already and were done by the builder. We also will need later on a retaining wall on the front boundary and one on the side boundary from the front of the garage forward. All these hidden costs are killing my blinds and driveway fund! I also want to put in a retaining wall along my back boundary to level out my backyard. I'm in the process of getting the builder to have his tradie dig the holes for it and I will install it myself later on. Considering his tradie is going to be on site anyway, with the hole digging machine, it isnt going to take much to dig the four or five holes that I need. I'm happy to pay extra for the additional holes. Re: retaining walls 8Aug 05, 2008 6:50 pm Hi Brittany,
