Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Jul 09, 2016 9:10 am Hey guys We are in the process of waiting for our tender appointment which is still a month away. Meanwhile, our land has settled and we've noticed that there's been concrete being dumped in our land which isn't fenced. We've only got our builder's sign out in the front and we even tried running 'caution' tapes around the land in an effort to keep intruders out. Our developer has said she'll investigate but my hope is running thin. Anyone been in the same situation where your land was used as a concrete dump? Thanks guys. Re: Concrete dump in land 2Jul 09, 2016 9:55 am Unfortunately a lot of builders rubbish or just rubbish in general tends to be dumped on vacant blocks. If your build isn't too far off you could ask your builder to put up the temp fencing now and just pay them for the extra weeks or find out who they use and get them there directly until the builder starts otherwise its a tough thing to avoid which is a real shame to say. You could also put up your fencing now and just use temp fencing at the front but unless your setback are big expect some damage to the fence and also check that your builder wont charge you double handling for delivery of materials. http://camdenbuild.blogspot.com.au/ by invite only please pm me Re: Concrete dump in land 3Jul 09, 2016 3:27 pm yellowpostit Hey guys We are in the process of waiting for our tender appointment which is still a month away. We had to hire a 6m skip bin and a man with a dingo to clean it all up and temporary fence went up the next day! Yep, and same with basically any vacant block around (any time someone gets concrete poured the truck empties/rinses in nearby vacant blocks). Not a whole lot to be done about it until the fence goes up unfortunately. You should see the amount of rubbish accumulating on empty blocks around our place (whole sets of tires, multiple lounge suites, mattresses, broken TVs, desk chairs, etc). I feel lucky we are on the "main" street and there are more houses than empty blocks now, because the lots on the edge of our development are copping it. We built the Rathdowne with Simonds Express in Western Melbourne Site start Oct. 2015 Keys Jan. 25th, 2015 My build thread -here- Re: Concrete dump in land 6Aug 01, 2016 5:39 pm We had concrete & rubbish dumped in our vacant block too. We called up the Site Supervisor of the neighbours build (see sign at front fence) & asked them to remove it & they did. CARLISLE - Milano 48 Slab pour: 21 Jan 2016 YES - a lot has gone wrong!! Lets hope they fix them all! Currently approaching completion - maybe: July 2016. Re: Concrete dump in land 7Aug 01, 2016 6:25 pm I reported to the council. They said they couldn't do anything without proof.. but I hope their vehicle going past regularly puts people off. My builder also called the SS for the neighboring blocks and told them to clean it up. I haven't been back to see if it's improved the situation yet. Yeah I don't know why I came to a forum. Place is full of wierdos/pedos thought internet may help but I suppose I'll try my luck with someone in person. Cheers. I tried… 0 6415 Need advice on the backyard plan above. Should I excavate and cut all of the dirt to level with the house slab or semi-excavate as per photo above? Both left and right… 0 24832 |
