Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Feb 14, 2018 2:16 pm HI Guys, i am in the initial stages with engaging fairhaven. when i request some changes, it takes 1 week to hear back if those are possible and another week for pricing. i e minimum 2 weeks waiting time even if the changes are small.I have seen with other builders where the response was pretty fast. My fairhaven sales consultant told me fairhaven is busy with many different change request and its normal waiting time.i don't know how long i need to take to finalize my plan and other process, if this is the response time from fairhaven homes. any comment on this? Do they move things fast , like color selection, tender, construction , at least after locking down floor plan ? Re: fairhaven response time 2Jul 15, 2018 6:56 pm Thats a normal response time. You wont be the only one trying to make changes to the floor plan, and have to wait in line with everyone else. Fairhaven seem to be one of the only companies that are very flexible in allowing floor plan changes. Most other builders already have the changes they allow priced up which allows them to be so quick. Once you have colour selection tender isn't usually to far away and then construction can stall a little depending on the permit process with the council. You also have to get developer approval which can take time as well. Just remember you might have to get asset protection from the local council which can be a huge cost not counted for ($2000 -3000) We went from colour selection to site in about 3 months.
