Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Jul 30, 2016 7:16 pm Hi all, We're approaching lock up (GJ Gardner Mandalay 338) and are now starting to look more into our window Covering and landscaping options. When we received our finance approval it included quotes for landscaping - $22k and window coverings for the whole house at $15k. We've now decided that we only really need to put window covering in the bedrooms, study and activity room (it gets some afternoon sun) as the rest of the house won't need it. We have lovely large windows that due to the positioning of the house don't let in direct sunlight. It now seems like out total window spend may only be around $6k. This leaves us with $9k that we have approval for, and we were wanting to add side driveway gates ($3.5k) and allow for completion of the courtyard tiling and synthetic grass ($5k). Our loan is with cba, and out broker says we need to wait until the end and they apply for the additional $9k to be paid out in cash yet isn't sure if it will or not. Just wanting to hear other people's experiences so I know whether is worth contacting cba direct or take a 'wait and see' approach. Thanks The best advice is for you to get a competent building consultant to guide you through your build 7 3786 Hi Marko The best thing to do is to have a look at your contract and see how the variation clause is worded.
