Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Jul 27, 2016 11:31 pm After couple of months of research through home1 forum and stalking couple of threads I have decided to build our first home in South East Melbourne. Paid the initial deposit and going through the myriad of things to go forward.. Our land will be titling in September.. So time to get the ball rolling... Special mention to Mirz for his awesome thread which gave an insight into what I am going to be facing... Decided to go with Sahara Belle with Liberty Facade. with the following upgrades. Kitchen Cabinets- Crystal Gloss 40mm Stone to Island and rear of kitchen. Exposed aggregate drive way. Extra window in theatre room. Need to head to Cosham again to finalise things. Thinking it might be easier on the selection day.. A bit disappointment at the start as Henley has informed that colour selection is only possible after more than a month as they are busy and tender again after a month. So the site start wont happen in 3 months which is a disappointment. The salesperson said we can do colours in 2 weeks and move all the paper works soon and can site start in 3 months. Now the girl at the office says salesperson would not have a clue when to do colors and site start. But she said she would try and keep it rolling faster.. Well Wait and See how it goes. Might be good that we are getting a bit of time before colour selection. Hope to stick with the budget Re: Building Sahara Belle with Henley !!!! 7Sep 13, 2016 1:51 pm fingers crossed for you guiys, colours can tend to add a lot more to the price haha! Look forward to hearing how it all went and to see the colours in which you chose Re: Building Sahara Belle with Henley !!!! 10Sep 25, 2016 9:20 pm gngcrazy How did your colour selection go?? post some pictures.. Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Color selection was ok as we had kind of an idea what we would like to select. Got bit confused a bit in between as the girl at Cosham were insisting that couple of colors don't match at all. But towards the end it was ok I guess. Still waiting on pricing about couple of things. So any one going for color selection be prepared well. Otherwise you won't get time at all. As we finished just in time. Building Sahara Belle with Henley !!!! 11Sep 25, 2016 9:27 pm Jojo2014 Hi Did henley charge yu ou for reestablishment survey and if so what was the cost outcome? Henley included a provision of 850 fir resurvey if pegs get lost. But I think I should mark the edges of plot in my own way by taking measurements from road and sides which I read somewhere would help to save that. So that even if someone pulls it out we can reinstate that at exact spot. I don't know if Henley will accept that. But that is what I am going to do. And when I visited the plot it looks like it won't be hard to do at all i guess. Hopefully the pegs will be there when I go to do it Re: Building Sahara Belle with Henley !!!! 13Sep 29, 2016 10:49 am Jojo2014 Hi Did henley charge yu ou for reestablishment survey and if so what was the cost outcome? They usually add this into your quote and then credit it back to you if there was no need for it. Our block will be titling in June 2017 and we are wanting to get started pretty much straight away so I am sure we will have our pegs! If not I will be ensuring the developer pays it back to me! As they should be there. Re: Building Sahara Belle with Henley !!!! 14Sep 29, 2016 11:07 am Mine was added at tender just under $900 Re: Building Sahara Belle with Henley !!!! 15Oct 04, 2016 11:22 am stayxtrue Jojo2014 Hi Did henley charge yu ou for reestablishment survey and if so what was the cost outcome? As they should be there. I have reinforced my pegs down to the ground to a decent length . Hopefully it will stay there until Henley take charge. I took some measurement as well in case if it gets lost. Sad to see the neighbors pegs ****** on their walk way. Hopefully he will have some measurement to put it back. Re: Building Sahara Belle with Henley !!!! 16Oct 04, 2016 11:43 am Regarding pegs even if you lose the actual pegs dig around in the ground until you find your lot number buried. Grab yourself a new stake and position it back in. Should then be no need for resurvey Second Build, this time with Carlisle 2016, can't wait! So hopefully did a good job in doing that. Our tender is booked for 12th. Hopefully I won't get a shocker as couple of things still need to be priced Went to the property and pretty excited about how things are going...
