Nah, he doesn't mind at all. I arranged to meet the Beaumont's supervisor before tiling started to confirm what I wanted and what tiles were going where and he told me I was welcome to come by when I wanted to see the tiles but to ask the tilers before walking on any tiles. It's definitely worth doing after handover. Our downstairs desk, drawers and cupboards were $2.5k through M. We put the same desk in the upstairs media area too. Hard to see in this pic due to the plastic cover. Why didn’t I think of that lol [/quote] Yeah, it really opens the space up. Will eventually put some plantation shutters in there. I'm sure you could open that space up at some stage down the track Metricon Metro 32 KDRB Bayside Melbourne viewtopic.php?f=31&t=84012 Re: Metricon Metro 32 KDRB Bayside Melbourne 453Sep 27, 2017 11:11 am Week 29 update: tiling continues and is looking pretty good. Discovered that not only is the stone wrong but the kitchen island bench is incorrect and only has a 13.5cm overhang when it should be 25cm overhang. Argh!!! So frustrating. The cabinet maker even signed off the QA checklist as all correct! He clearly didn't check it! This will mean another delay for us and tiling will need to be ripped up around the bench 🤦🏼♀️ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Metricon Metro 32 KDRB Bayside Melbourne viewtopic.php?f=31&t=84012 Metricon Metro 32 KDRB Bayside Melbourne 454Sep 27, 2017 11:24 am Oh no! Is it the island or the stone that’s the wrong size? What stone have they installed and what’s it supposed to be? On the up side your tiles look amazing Build thread: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=85381#p1630392 Re: Metricon Metro 32 KDRB Bayside Melbourne 456Sep 27, 2017 12:35 pm Vantage_35 Oh no! Is it the island or the stone that’s the wrong size? What stone have they installed and what’s it supposed to be? On the up side your tiles look amazing The stone is correct at 1350 but the cabinets should be 1080 and they've made them 1200 so our overhang has been reduced to 130 instead of 250. The stone is the biggest width it can be without a join otherwise they could just put a bigger bit of stone on. Stone colour is wrong. They've installed osprey and it should be sleek concrete. What gets me is that a guy from the kitchen supplier came and signed off as it all being correct! Sigh Metricon Metro 32 KDRB Bayside Melbourne viewtopic.php?f=31&t=84012 Re: Metricon Metro 32 KDRB Bayside Melbourne 457Sep 27, 2017 2:21 pm Frustrating! Something tells me this kitchen dude is gonna be looking for a new job! Just keep your eye on the prize. It's just a delay- delay will be worth it to get everything the way you envisioned it. Just thinking about options- I actually love the slightly different tone in the bench top and the polished finish against the concrete look tiles. Would you consider leaving all as it is, and having a feature piece of stone stacked on top of the benchtop and kind of cantilevered to give you the overhang for a breakfast bar? It could be very cool. You could do it in sleek concrete to tie the floor in. On a positive note, I love love your tile choices!
